How the Game Works

In Steal a Brainrot, players spawn at one of eight bases on the map. Each base allows players to generate in-game cash through brainrots stored inside. The lock duration increases with each rebirth, but the initial lock always begins at 30 seconds.

Players can acquire brainrots in two ways. The first is purchasing one from the red conveyor located in the middle of the map, where the price rises each time another player attempts to buy. The second is stealing a brainrot from another player’s unlocked base. Carrying a stolen brainrot notifies the original owner, slows the thief, and disables the thief’s items, leaving them vulnerable to attacks. If the thief is attacked, the brainrot automatically returns to its original base.

Tutorial and Early Gameplay

New players start with 100 cash and are guided through a tutorial that introduces the mechanics of the game. The tutorial instructs players to purchase a Noobini Pizzanini from the red conveyor, wait for it to reach their base, and collect cash. Once players have mastered this step, they are prompted to steal brainrots from other bases and bring them back to their own.

Base Progression

The base serves as the hub where players store their brainrots and collect money. It is secured by red laser beams that only the owner and their chosen Connections can pass through. With each rebirth, players unlock additional capacity and structural upgrades. The second rebirth adds a second floor with an exterior staircase, and the tenth rebirth introduces a third floor with a ladder. At maximum progression, a base can hold up to 22 brainrots across three floors. Since the August 2 update, players can also transfer brainrots to different slots within the base.

The Rebirth System

Rebirths are central to long-term progression in Steal a Brainrot. Each rebirth requires specific conditions, such as a set amount of cash and particular items like the Trippi Troppi and the Tung Tung Tung Sahur. Rebirthing resets the player’s money and brainrots but increases the base lock time by 10 seconds, boosts the money multiplier by 1, and adds new items in the Coins Shop. Beginning with the second rebirth, players also receive an additional brainrot slot with each reset. Currently, the maximum number of rebirths available is 14.

Shops and Items

The game features three shops near the red conveyor. The standard Shop offers items for cash, while the Robux Shop sells items purchasable with Robux. A spinning wheel beside the Robux Shop gives players the chance to win one of six possible prizes.

Items play a key role in both defense and mobility. Players begin with the Tung Bat, which can knock back opponents and recover stolen brainrots. Additional items can increase movement speed, enhance jumping ability, or provide offensive tools. New items are unlocked as players progress through rebirths. While most items disappear when leaving the game, an auto-buy feature allows them to be repurchased instantly upon rejoining. The Tung Bat and items from the Blackhole Starter Pack remain permanently in the player’s inventory.
