Roblox Creator Showdown Offers $50k Prize Pool

Roblox has launched its first-ever live Creator Showdown, an in-person competitive event in Los Angeles featuring eight well-known creators and a $50,000 prize pool. The tournament brings together some of the platform’s most recognizable names for a fast-paced livestream that highlights Roblox’s growing focus on competitive play and creator-led entertainment.

A New Competitive Format for Roblox

The Creator Showdown features four teams of two creators competing across five rounds structured around popular Roblox genres. Each round contributes to a cumulative point total, which determines how the prize pool is distributed. The featured lineup includes Katrina Buno, Steak, Caylus, Foltyn, MeEnyu, Cakemiix, IBella, and Nico, marking a mix of creators known for gameplay, commentary, and community-driven content.

Hosted by Bundun alongside esports commentator Mimi “aEvilCat” Wermcrantz, the event is positioned as a milestone for Roblox’s competitive ambitions. The games selected for the tournament cover a range of established experiences on the platform. Rivals serves as the arena shooter portion of the event with its reflex-heavy combat.

Tower of Hell introduces precision platforming with no checkpoints, placing pressure on consistent execution. Blue Lock: Rivals brings a team-based soccer format to the competition with a focus on coordinated play. Ink Game rounds out the structured lineup with a survival scenario where shifting dynamics can alter the match quickly. The final round functions as a wildcard, allowing viewers in The Block to vote on which game the competitors will face next.

Expanded Viewer Interaction Through The Block

Roblox is also using the Creator Showdown to expand audience participation. The event streams live on YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok, but The Block - an immersive Roblox experience - offers deeper interaction. Fans inside The Block can vote on predicted winners for each round, earn exclusive avatar items by placing accurate votes, and join fan zones that highlight team colors and community hangouts. By integrating the event directly into the platform, Roblox is positioning The Block as a central hub for future interactive livestreams and competitive events.

Building Toward a Long-Term Competitive Vision

Roblox has described the Creator Showdown as part of a broader effort to explore competitive play on the platform. The company frames the event as the beginning of a larger initiative that will continue evolving as creators experiment with new formats, interactive features, and hybrid livestream experiences. While not directly tied to web3 technologies, Roblox’s approach mirrors industry trends toward community-driven digital spaces, interactive media, and creator-centered programming.

The Creator Showdown represents a step toward a more unified competitive identity for Roblox, supported by both its creator community and its expanding live event capabilities. The company has expressed interest in refining this framework over time, signaling room for more structured tournaments and collaborative formats.
