RavenIdle will enter open beta on September 10. The test will help Tavernlight Games confirm its rebuilt backend can support over 100k concurrent players before the first official season.
Tavernlight Games has announced that its upcoming web3 idle role-playing game, RavenIdle, will begin an open beta test on September 10. The beta will run for a limited time and is designed to give players early access to the game while helping developers test a newly rebuilt backend system. The aim of this phase is to ensure the infrastructure can handle more than 100,000 concurrent players before the launch of the game’s first official season.
RavenIdle Open Beta to Offer $70k in Prizes
The open beta will serve as a large-scale stress test to confirm the game’s readiness for global release. Earlier in July, RavenIdle was set to begin Season 0, but technical difficulties forced a delay. According to the development team, the original backend was not able to handle player demand, prompting engineers to rebuild the system from the ground up. The decision to hold an open beta is intended to avoid a repeat of these problems and to ensure a stable environment for the first full season.
Players who join the beta will be able to test the game’s mechanics and familiarize themselves with its systems. Although Tavernlight Games has not released full details on the content that will be available, the announcement suggested that knowledge gained during the test will provide players with an advantage when Season 1 officially begins. All progress made during the open beta will be reset before the full launch.
RavenIdle Open Beta to Offer $70k in Prizes
Unlike the previously planned Season 0, the open beta will not focus on rewards. Season 0 had been expected to include a prize pool starting at $70,000, with the potential to grow to $570,000 through Battle Pass purchases, but the unstable backend made it unsuitable to launch a blockchain-powered economy. Tavernlight Games appears to be reserving the full prize system for the official launch of Season 1.
The studio has indicated that rewards in the first season could be increased to reflect the extra development time required to prepare the game. However, no information has been provided on whether players will receive any recognition or incentives for participating in the open beta test.
The length of the beta test has not been announced, but its outcome will determine how soon RavenIdle can fully launch. If the test confirms that the backend is stable, a worldwide release could follow by the end of September. Players who want to participate are encouraged to monitor the game’s social media channels and register on the official website. The beta is expected to be playable through web browsers, while the full release is planned to extend to mobile devices and Telegram as well.
RavenIdle Open Beta to Offer $70k in Prizes
RavenIdle is a free-to-play idle RPG built within the RavenQuest ecosystem and powered by Immutable zkEVM. Developed in-house by Tavernlight Games, the game allows players to build custom classes through skill trees, complete dungeon runs against fantasy creatures, and progress even while away from the game through idle mechanics. Players can gather resources, craft equipment, develop land, and send tradepacks to different cities for rewards.
Although RavenIdle will be free to play, players who want to access the web3 economy and compete for $QUEST tokens are expected to need a Battle Pass. Purchases of the Battle Pass are also intended to contribute to the seasonal prize pool.
RavenIdle Open Beta to Offer $70k in Prizes
RavenIdle is the second game in the RavenQuest ecosystem. The first title, RavenQuest, is a blockchain-based MMORPG that recently launched on the Epic Games Store alongside the Treasures Below expansion. In August, the game introduced an Expedition Leaderboard event with 2.8 million $QUEST tokens available in rewards over four weeks.
With RavenIdle approaching its open beta, Tavernlight Games continues to expand its ecosystem and test the capabilities of its infrastructure, laying the foundation for larger-scale web3 gameplay in the months ahead.
