Pudgy Penguins, a well-known crypto-native intellectual property, has launched a new multiplayer web3 game titled Pengu Clash. The game is developed on the TON blockchain and is accessible through Telegram as a mini-app, representing a significant step in the brand’s effort to broaden its presence in the web3 gaming space. Pengu Clash is designed to offer fast-paced, skill-based 1v1 gameplay, positioning itself as an accessible yet competitive title for a broad audience.
The game is powered by Elympics, a real-time on-chain multiplayer infrastructure, which enables smooth and fair competitive experiences. Players can engage in short, direct matches in various mini-games, with each session emphasizing skill-based outcomes rather than random rewards or pay-to-win mechanics. The integration of Elympics ensures that game mechanics remain transparent, real-time, and secure, offering a reliable platform for tokenized competition.

Early access to Pengu Clash is currently available through a public beta sign-up. Players who join during this phase are given the opportunity to earn rare non-fungible token (NFT) traits and other in-game incentives. A referral system also allows participants to invite others and unlock additional rewards. According to the Pudgy Penguins team, over one million users have already joined the waitlist, indicating a strong initial interest in the game and its features.
Through its integration with Telegram, Pengu Clash benefits from a built-in user base and social functionality. This approach allows players to engage directly within a familiar messaging platform while experiencing real-time web3 gameplay. The choice of Telegram as a delivery platform aligns with Pudgy Penguins’ strategy to meet users where they are, making web3 gaming more approachable and accessible.

Pengu Clash includes a selection of casual mini-games such as Darts, Football, and Bomber. Each game pits two players against one another, with the outcome determined by player skill. In contrast to traditional "play to earn" models, Pengu Clash follows a "play to win" structure, where players are rewarded based on performance rather than participation. This approach seeks to address concerns about fairness and sustainability that have affected earlier web3 gaming models.
Elympics, the infrastructure behind Pengu Clash, provides token-based incentives and supports real-time tournament systems. According to Elympics Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Tom Kopera, the goal is to create engaging, competitive experiences grounded in fun and fairness. The project reflects a growing trend in web3 development that prioritizes user experience and gameplay quality over speculative mechanics.

Pengu Clash is part of a broader initiative by Pudgy Penguins to evolve from an NFT-centric brand into a more comprehensive entertainment property. Originally launched in 2021 as a collection of 8,888 Ethereum-based NFTs, Pudgy Penguins gained popularity through its distinctive art style and engaged community. Since then, the brand has expanded into physical merchandise, retail partnerships, and a growing lineup of digital games.
Under the direction of CEO Luca Netz, Pudgy Penguins is actively working to develop new ways for users to interact with its brand through gaming and social platforms. This effort is supported by the PENGU token, which powers many of the brand’s web3 experiences.

Beyond Pengu Clash, Pudgy Penguins has introduced other gaming projects to support its move into web3 entertainment. Pudgy World is a browser-based open-world experience where users can customize avatars and interact socially in a blockchain-enabled environment. Built on the zkSync Era Layer-2 Ethereum network, the game features privacy-preserving technology and gas-free transactions. Players can enhance their avatars by scanning QR codes included with physical Pudgy Penguins toys, though the game remains open to non-NFT holders as well.
Pudgy Party is another upcoming title, scheduled for release in 2025. This mobile game is being developed in collaboration with Mythical Games and takes inspiration from popular party games. Designed for cooperative play, Pudgy Party will run on the Mythos Chain and launch on both iOS and Android platforms, offering users a mobile-first way to engage with the Pudgy Penguins universe.
The brand also appears in LOL Land, a dice-based web3 board game by Yield Guild Games. LOL Land includes themes and characters from Pudgy Penguins and is set to launch on the Abstract Chain. Scheduled for release on May 23, this game incorporates tokenized rewards and NFT-based gameplay assets, highlighting Pudgy Penguins' reach beyond games it directly develops.
