OverKnights is a free-to-play card battler that allows players to assemble humanoid mechs from modular parts and engage in turn-based PvP combat. Each match blends tactical deckbuilding with dynamic combat, where players deploy cards that trigger cinematic attacks and defensive maneuvers. The goal is to dismantle the opponent’s mech while maintaining your own. Winning matches rewards players with parts, cards, and resources that can be used to enhance both their mech and their deck.

The game is currently in open alpha and available as a free download on the Epic Games Store for Windows PCs. While players can engage with the game without connecting a web3 wallet, linking an Immutable Passport enables eligibility for blockchain-based rewards in competitive events. The upcoming Crystal Fragments Season will give players a chance to compete for the game’s native token, $OVC, through Play to Airdrop events.

Quantum Cache Loot Table

The Pre-Season web portal opens on September 24, allowing players to familiarize themselves with season mechanics and prepare for competitive play. The Pilot Badge functions as a VIP pass that provides several benefits. Badge holders gain access to a premium Quantum Cache loot table with a higher chance of obtaining valuable Fragments, as well as entry into an exclusive $IMX reward pool.

The Pilot Badge is sold using a bonding curve, starting at $10 worth of $IMX for Season 1, with the price increasing by 0.25% for each subsequent purchase. Proceeds from Badge sales contribute to the $IMX prize pool, which initially totals $5,000. A player’s share of the reward pool is determined by the number of Fragments collected over the course of the season. Players who do not purchase the Pilot Badge can still access detailed information about the season through the portal, but they will not earn rewards during Pre-Season.

$OVC Tokens and Quantum Caches

Season 1: Crystal Fragments is expected to launch by the end of September and run for up to two weeks, with a total of 1 million $OVC tokens allocated for distribution. Players earn Fragments, which are tradable NFTs that act as points on the leaderboard. Standard Fragment Shards are worth one point each, while Crystals are worth ten points. Quantum Caches, which are lootboxes earned by completing daily and weekly quests, contain a random number of Fragments and Crystals.

The Pre-Season allows players to understand how to earn these Quantum Caches and plan strategies for maximizing their rewards. Pilot Badge holders benefit from the premium loot table, which increases the likelihood of receiving high-value Fragments. Other factors affecting $OVC allocation include ELO rankings, Genesis NFT ownership, and community engagement, including social leaderboard standings and referrals.
