Obitus Games announces the Crystal Fragments Season in OverKnights, a web3 P2A event running from September to November, offering $OVC airdrops, $IMX leaderboard rewards, and NFT-based items.
Obitus Games has announced the launch of the Crystal Fragments Season in OverKnights, a play to airdrop (P2A) event scheduled to begin in early September and conclude in mid-November. The season allows players to take part in daily and weekly tasks to earn tradable Fragments, which can be converted into tickets that determine allocations of the upcoming $OVC token airdrop. At the same time, players can compete on leaderboards for additional $IMX rewards.

OverKnights is a free-to-play card battler that combines mech-building mechanics with tactical card-based combat. Players construct a humanoid robot from interchangeable parts while building a deck of cards designed for strategic, turn-based battles. The matches feature cinematic sequences that animate each card action, creating dynamic duels where the objective is to dismantle the opponent’s mech while managing defense and counterattacks.
Victories provide access to new cards, mech parts, and progression items that can enhance future matches. The game is backed by Immutable and Sequence and is currently available in open alpha on the Epic Games Store for Windows PCs.
Players can begin playing without linking a wallet or engaging with blockchain features, but those who connect their Immutable Passport gain access to web3 components, including the ability to earn rewards such as USDC in leaderboard competitions. The upcoming Crystal Fragments Season further expands this model by linking gameplay progression to token-based airdrop opportunities.

The Crystal Fragments Season is positioned as a play to airdrop event that emphasizes competition and consistency. By participating, players will be able to earn allocations of the forthcoming $OVC token, which is expected to launch in mid to late November following the token generation event (TGE).
While referred to as a season, the initiative is structured in multiple smaller segments separated by breaks. This approach is designed to give players several opportunities to rejoin the competition without being disadvantaged if they miss the initial phase.
Leaderboards will be used to distribute $IMX tokens, but players do not need to focus exclusively on climbing rankings in order to benefit. The accumulation of Fragments through tasks provides an alternative path to earning rewards, making the event accessible to both casual and competitive participants.

Once the event begins, participants will earn Quantum Caches by completing daily and weekly tasks. Daily tasks grant one Cache, while weekly tasks provide three. Each Cache contains a random allocation of Fragments, either in the form of Fragment Shards or Rare Fragment Crystals.
These NFTs can then be converted into tickets, which will determine each player’s $OVC token allocation once the TGE has taken place. Players who prefer not to convert their Fragments into tickets will have the option to trade them on secondary markets or redeem them for pre-sale items in the in-game store. Holding certain types of Fragments until the season ends may also result in additional $IMX rewards. The reward system is based on two loot tables.
All players have access to the Free Player Loot Table, while those who purchase the Pilot Badge gain access to a separate loot table that offers higher-value rewards. The Pilot Badge serves as a tradable VIP pass and can only be held once per account. It also contributes to funding a shared prize pool that will be distributed at the end of each season. Genesis Pilot NFT holders receive further multipliers on rewards, giving them additional benefits during the event.

Alongside Fragment collection, players will be able to compete on ELO-based and social leaderboards. High performance in these rankings is expected to yield additional token rewards, including $IMX. The game also features referral bonuses and, according to a previously published roadmap, may expand to include rewards in USDC as well. This multi-path approach aims to encourage both competitive gameplay and community participation.
The exact nature of the daily and weekly tasks has not yet been specified, but they are anticipated to include both gameplay-based and social objectives. With the Crystal Fragments Season beginning in early September, players can prepare by downloading OverKnights on the Epic Games Store and practicing their strategies ahead of the event. The season is intended to serve as a bridge toward the launch of the $OVC token.
