Learn about the OverKnights Genesis Pilot NFT reveal, what each mystery box contains, and how rarity odds are determined. Detailed insight into the revel, trading, and web3 gameplay integration.
OverKnights, a free-to-play online card battler built within the web3 ecosystem, has launched a new phase in its gameplay and digital asset integration through the introduction of the Genesis Pilot NFT collection. This development brings new opportunities for players to engage with the game by offering ownership of unique digital assets that can be used in future gameplay.
Set within a futuristic player-versus-player environment, OverKnights positions players as Pilots commanding customizable robotic warriors. Each battle is conducted through the use of Command Cards, which players deploy strategically in real-time duels. Winning battles unlocks additional cards, robot parts, and in-game resources, adding depth and progression to the experience.
OverKnights Genesis Pilot NFT Reveal Explained
The Genesis Pilot NFTs were acquired through a process that began with minting a sealed digital crate on TokenTrove. When a user minted a Genesis Pilot, what they received was not immediately revealed. Instead, they were issued a sealed mystery box that contained an unrevealed NFT. This design choice ensured that all users discover their NFT’s appearance and rarity at the same time, creating a shared experience for the community and preventing any advantage through early access or selective purchasing.
The mystery box model serves multiple functions. It supports fairness by ensuring all rarities are revealed simultaneously. It also helped build anticipation within the community, as holders await the official reveal date to learn what they’ve received. Finally, it prevents rare NFTs from being identified and traded prematurely, which helps maintain a balanced market.
OverKnights Genesis Pilot NFT Reveal Explained
The official reveal of the Genesis Pilot NFTs is scheduled for Monday, July 29 at 4 PM UTC. At this time, all sealed boxes will automatically update, revealing the unique Pilot artwork, the NFT’s rarity classification, and metadata relevant for in-game integration. No action is required from holders for the update to occur, as it will reflect automatically on TokenTrove and in supported crypto wallets.
Each revealed NFT includes a custom-designed Pilot and OverKnight, with art tailored to the asset’s rarity tier. The NFT also includes metadata necessary for future gameplay, along with access to a Founder’s Pack, which delivers additional benefits tied to the rarity level. The reveal marks the transition from ownership of a sealed digital asset to full access to a functional game-related NFT.
Prior to the reveal, mystery box NFTs remain fully tradeable on the secondary market. While the contents are unknown until revealed, each box maintains its original odds, which are determined by the wallet that minted it. This means that anyone purchasing a box on the secondary market is effectively acquiring the mint-based probability of receiving a specific rarity.
Buyers should understand that the randomness of the reveal is already pre-assigned based on minting data. As a result, secondary purchases are essentially speculative but are not influenced by post-mint behavior. The system preserves the integrity of the initial rarity allocation while still allowing for open market activity.
The Genesis Pilot collection is limited to 1,000 NFTs and includes multiple rarity tiers, each with a specific distribution based on wallet slots allocated during minting. The top tier, Legendary, is reserved for six wallets that were guaranteed a Legendary NFT from the outset. These were not subject to random selection and represent the rarest assets in the collection.
The next tier, Mythical, includes 29 wallets, all of which are guaranteed to receive a Mythical NFT. There is also a smaller group of wallets that have a mixed probability of revealing either a Mythical or Rare NFT, with odds weighted accordingly. Another group consists of wallets that hold a nearly even chance between receiving a Mythical or Rare Pilot. Please see the full breakdown in image below.

Further down the distribution, some wallets have a three-tier chance of receiving a Mythical, Rare, or Common NFT. The largest group, consisting of over 1,000 wallets, falls into the Common category. However, even within this group, there are notable odds for receiving a Rare NFT, and a small percentage chance exists for receiving a Mythical one. This means that while most holders are likely to reveal Common-tier NFTs, there remains potential for higher rarity pulls even at the base level. Please see the full breakdown in image below.
