In a significant development for the web3 gaming industry, the Epic Games Store has witnessed a substantial increase in the number of blockchain games available on its platform. Currently, over 127 blockchain games populate the digital shelves of the PC games distribution giant, marking a nearly double increase from the previous year's count.
In this article, we will cover the rise of blockchain games on the Epic Games Store with over 127 titles now listed. The most prominent titles include MetalCore, Parallel, Blocklords, Star Atlas, Apeiron, Nyan Heroes, and Shrapnel. From anticipated releases to live playtests, we explore the diverse landscape of this emerging gaming frontier.
Diving into the numbers, 58% of the over 127 games listed are currently live in some form. Meanwhile, 28% are labeled as "coming soon," and 13% are slated for release at some point in 2024. Valannia Arena, however, is taking a longer route, with its availability listed in Q2 2025.
Several games have already made their mark on the platform - including Aurory’s RPG Seekers of Tokane, Rough House Games’ PVP RPG Champions Ascension, open-world racer Wilder World, Immutables' auto-chess game Illuvium, and third-person shooter Mars Battle.
Additionally, monster-tamer RPG Zeeverse, Blowfish Studios’ mech battler Phantom Galaxies, and Ghost Ivy’s FPS Haven’s Compass are among the live offerings. Cometh’s TCG Cosmik Battle, Immutable’s TCG Gods Unchained, Earn Alliance’s zombie survival game Last Remains, and Directive Games’ top-down shooter The Machines Arena.
Other notable mentions include popular games including MetalCore, Parallel, Blocklords, Star Atlas, Apeiron, Nyan Heroes, and Shrapnel. However, it's essential to note that while many of these games are listed, they are not all formally live yet. Instead, they are either undergoing time-limited or key-gated playtests.
In a promising debut, the crypto-powered title Nyan Heroes from 9 Lives Interactive catapulted into the top 30 most-played games on the Epic Games Store, drawing over 200,000 downloads during its limited pre-alpha run. The success of this mech shooter, boasting feline aviators and Unreal Engine 5 prowess, signals potential in the growing landscape of blockchain gaming.
Nyan Heroes achieved significant success with its two-week pre-alpha demo, ranking among the Top 30 most-played games on Epic Games. With over 200,000 downloads and a daily active user base of 35,000, players have collectively spent 400,000 hours immersed in the game. The game has garnered attention globally, with 1.3 million registrations for its Missions feature. Lastly, Nyan Heroes attracted 641,000 unique wallets, indicating a strong engagement from the gaming community.
Exciting prospects lie ahead for the Epic Games Store, with several highly anticipated titles set to make their debut. Among the titles expected to launch soon are Mon Studios’ retro MMO Spellborne, Param Labs’ shooter Kiraverse, Acid Rainbow’s FPS Badmad Robots, and Dynasty Studios’ survival shooter Providence.
Towards the end of the year, gamers can anticipate the arrival of Everreach’s shooter R3V3NG3 and SpacePirate’s sci-fi action adventure game Age of Rust.
