Otherworld has launched the closed beta for 'Solo Leveling: Unlimited' (SL:U) a digital collectibles platform based on the popular 'Solo Leveling' webtoon IP. This platform will use Avalanche's technology to provide a seamless experience, including gasless NFT transactions. Justin Kim, Head of Korea at Ava Labs, commented:
“It’s exciting to see a popular series like Solo Leveling expand and provide an immersive gamified experience for its worldwide fans leveraging blockchain. This is a sign of what’s possible when mainstream cultural icons and cutting-edge technology converge.”
Otherworld Launches 'Solo Leveling: Unlimited' on Avalanche Blockchain
Launched in 2020 by Ava Labs, Avalanche is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain network that aims to solve the blockchain trilemma of security, decentralization, and scalability with the help of its specifically developed consensus mechanism named Snowball.
Like its direct competitors Ethereum, Solana, and Polkadot, the Avalanche network supports smart contracts and decentralized applications (Dapps) to run on its blockchains. The Avalanche network has recently emerged as a powerhouse in the realm of decentralized applications, web3 gaming, and NFTs. With its high throughput and low fees, it's no wonder that game developers are flocking to this platform.
Gaming on Avalanche
Otherworld is a web3 social protocol with an open-source framework that allows developers to build or integrate social applications with its social graph. It leverages IP usage rights from top entertainment properties to create a decentralized content universe. Otherworld holds exclusive web3 rights to 26 webtoon IPs on KakaoPage, including 'Solo Leveling' and 'Second Life Ranker,' and collaborates with Cube Entertainment for K-pop artist IPs.
SL:U allows users to interact with the 'Solo Leveling' narrative through an innovative reward system. This initiative is part of Otherworld's broader strategy to combine entertainment with blockchain technology. Future plans include expanding to other webtoon IPs and K-pop groups.
Originally a web novel, 'Solo Leveling' has grown into a webtoon with over 14 billion views, an anime, a sequel webtoon called 'Solo Leveling: Ragnarok,' a live-action drama, and a game, 'Solo Leveling: Arise.' Mike Lee, CEO of Otherworld, commented:
“For web3 services to become popular, three things need improvement. These are blockchain wallet-based logins, eliminating transfer fees, and simplifying cryptocurrency payments. Our service aims to address these issues.”
Solo Leveling: Unlimited
In SL:U users can experience the original story's progression. Players earn monster cards by defeating monsters within the gates. These cards can be leveled up, and high-level cardholders will receive rewards. The platform will update seasonally, with community competitions and various activities. Top performers in each season will be rewarded with a limited edition Sung Jin-Woo Shadow Monarch profile picture.

The platform aims to help influencers and companies monetize their fanbases through digital collectibles, enhancing customer relationships and reinforcing brand identity. SL:U is now available in closed beta on Avalanche. For early access, visit the Otherworld community on Discord.
