Onchain Heroes Season 1

Onchain Heroes has launched the Endgame Dungeon as the second phase of Season 1, introducing a new level of challenge and rewards. Players who have spent weeks leveling up their heroes can now enter high-risk battles against powerful dungeon bosses. By staking their NFT heroes and $HERO tokens, they have the chance to earn Gacha Tokens, leaderboard rewards, and a share of the Season 1 prize pool. However, the stakes are high, as losing a battle results in heroes being locked until the season ends.

About Onchain Heroes

Onchain Heroes is a fully on-chain idle RPG built on the Abstract Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 network. Unlike many other web3 games, every battle, transaction, and reward is recorded on-chain, ensuring that players maintain complete ownership of their in-game assets. Access to Onchain Heroes is currently limited to those who hold a Genesis Hero NFT, allowing them to participate in battles and earn rewards through strategic gameplay.

The game revolves around the $HERO token, an ERC-20 utility token that serves multiple functions within Onchain Heroes. Players use $HERO to pay entry fees for battles and dungeons, upgrade their heroes, purchase in-game cosmetics, and unlock exclusive rewards. Tokens can be earned by completing missions, engaging in battles, and ranking on the leaderboard. The competitive structure encourages players to strategize their gameplay and maximize their earnings throughout the season.

Season 1 Structure and Timeline

Season 1 of Onchain Heroes consists of two distinct phases. The first phase, the Leveling Game, took place from February 20 to March 3, allowing players to strengthen their heroes and accumulate $HERO in preparation for the Endgame. The second phase, the Endgame Dungeon, began on March 3 and will continue until March 12. Only heroes that have reached level 10 or higher can enter the Endgame Dungeon, where they will face increasingly difficult battles with the potential for substantial rewards. With one week remaining in the season, players must decide whether to take risks for greater rewards or adopt a more cautious approach.

The Endgame Dungeon introduces high-stakes battles where players must stake both their NFT heroes and $HERO tokens before facing dungeon bosses. Entry requires a minimum hero level of 10 and an entry fee paid in $HERO. Once a hero is staked, it remains locked for a minimum duration of 12 hours. Players must manually unstake their heroes after battle to claim any rewards they earn. However, if a hero is defeated, it remains locked in the Endgame contract until the conclusion of Season 1, preventing it from being used, transferred, or sold. This mechanic increases the risk of each dungeon attempt, making strategic decision-making crucial for success.

Challenges and Boss Battles

The Endgame Dungeon features three dungeon bosses, each presenting unique challenges and requiring different levels of $HERO investment. The Stone Golem, available to heroes at level 10 and above, relies on high defense and slow but powerful attacks. The Armored Slime, which can only be challenged by level 15 heroes and higher, adapts its weaknesses throughout the fight, requiring players to adjust their strategies in real-time. The most formidable boss, the Shiitake Samurai, is available to heroes at level 20 and above. This opponent is fast and unpredictable, making battles against it particularly challenging. As the season progresses, bosses will evolve, altering their attack patterns and increasing the complexity of battles.

Players who successfully complete battles in the Endgame Dungeon can earn Gacha Tokens, which are ERC-1155 NFTs that will be redeemable in Season 2 for in-game items such as weapons, pets, and cosmetics. There are four different types of Gacha Tokens, ranging from Bronze, which grants basic equipment, to Rainbow, which provides ultra-rare weapons and legendary NFTs. These tokens will play an important role in future gameplay, as they allow players to acquire stronger gear for upcoming challenges.

Leaderboard System and $HERO Tokens

The leaderboard system further incentivizes competition by offering additional rewards to top-ranking players. At the end of Season 1, 50% of all $HERO tokens spent will be redistributed among the highest-ranked players, while the remaining 50% will be permanently burned. The top three players will also receive Genesis Rings, exclusive NFTs that grant special in-game perks. Players can accumulate leaderboard points through various activities, such as minting heroes, claiming $HERO rewards, and engaging in different types of training. Additionally, those using the Abstract Global Wallet (AGW) will receive XP rewards on a weekly basis, further enhancing their progress in the game.

One of the most distinctive aspects of the Endgame Dungeon is its evolving nature. Bosses change their attack patterns, weaknesses, and rewards over time, requiring players to adapt their strategies. The game uses Proof of Play’s Verifiable Random Function (VRF) technology to ensure fairness in combat outcomes, preventing predictability and adding an element of uncertainty to battles.

Final Thoughts

With Season 1 set to conclude on March 12, players have limited time to earn rewards and secure their place on the leaderboard. After the season ends, the Gacha House will open, allowing players to redeem their Gacha Tokens for powerful items that will impact gameplay in Season 2. As the game continues to evolve, players can expect additional challenges, new rewards, and further developments that will expand the Onchain Heroes experience.
