A major update has just landed on the OBB Platform, expanding how players interact with their Oh Baby Kart items. The marketplace, which already allowed trades using the game’s in-game currency, BP (Battle Points), now also supports USD transactions through stablecoins. With this update, players have more ways to exchange items, whether they’re looking to trade for fun, collect rare cosmetics, or cash in on valuable gear.
Oh Baby Games is a rising studio in the web3 gaming scene, best known for Oh Baby Kart, a fast-paced, arcade-style racer filled with chaotic tracks, colorful characters, and customizable karts. The game blends fun multiplayer action with collectible cosmetics, giving players a reason to race beyond just the finish line.
The OBB Marketplace is built directly into the OBB Platform and is now available on both desktop and mobile. It allows players to trade items from Oh Baby Kart, including skins, pets, ornaments, wheels, and crates, directly with each other. In its early version, the marketplace only supported trades using Battle Points (BP), the in-game currency earned through gameplay. But with this latest update, Oh Baby Games has introduced USD (via stablecoins) as a second payment option, adding real-world value to the in-game economy.
The Oh Baby Marketplace
While BP trading is supported across all devices, USD-based trades are limited to the desktop app. This ensures secure handling of deposits and withdrawals through integrated payment services. Note that not all items are tradable by default. Oh Baby Games reviews each item individually, with some unlocking for trading over time and others, like certain crates, remaining permanently non-tradable. This helps maintain scarcity and protects the value of rarer assets.
Using USD in the marketplace requires players to deposit funds via the desktop app. This process starts by clicking the red plus button beside the wallet balance, selecting “deposit,” and entering an amount greater than $10. From there, the platform redirects to a payment service platform, where the player connects their wallet, selects a token on the Base network, and completes the transaction. Once the process is finished, the user’s balance is updated within the app. There are no deposit fees charged by Oh Baby, but Base network gas fees still apply.
Oh Baby Platform (Game Launcher)
Withdrawals work similarly. Players must click the same red plus button, choose “withdraw,” enter an amount higher than $2.01, and provide a valid wallet address that supports USDC on the Base network. The withdrawal process includes a $1 base fee plus a 0.5% transaction fee, with processing times taking up to seven days.
The platform uses a third-party service to handle token conversions behind the scenes. Players can deposit a variety of tokens on the Base network, which are automatically swapped into USDC during the process. Once the conversion is complete, the player’s account is credited with the corresponding USD balance.
Oh Baby Store
For those looking to sell items, there’s one key step to unlock this feature: users must first make a purchase on the official Oh Baby Store at store.ohbabygames.com. This is a required step to activate selling privileges and helps ensure the marketplace stays limited to verified participants.
This marketplace update is a strong signal of Oh Baby Games’ approach to web3 integration. Currently, the feature supports only tradeable Oh Baby Kart items, but it’s a clear move toward a more player-owned and player-driven economy. By allowing users to exchange in-game assets for both BP and USD, the game adds real utility to its collectibles while still keeping things grounded.
Importantly, none of this is required to enjoy the game. Oh Baby Kart remains fully playable without ever engaging with web3 elements. Players can jump in, race, and customize purely for fun, with the marketplace simply offering more depth for those who want it. Oh Baby Games is also steadily growing its ecosystem, with new titles like the roguelike Shogun’s Curse and the upcoming fighting game Bam Bam Boom joining the lineup. This broader vision hints at the possibility of a unified marketplace experience across multiple titles in the future.
While there’s no confirmation yet of a native token or deeper DeFi mechanics, this update clearly lays the foundation. Whether you’re flipping kart skins for profit, collecting rare pets, or just tearing up the tracks without thinking about crypto at all, the new marketplace adds another layer of value and flexibility to the Oh Baby Kart experience.
