Off The Grid Reveal New Game Updates

Off The Grid has rolled out its latest update, introducing the Red Ant Battle Pass and a range of new gameplay features. The battle pass includes new character skins, emotes, and weapons, continuing the game’s established cyberpunk style. This update marks a significant addition for players as it coincides with mechanical upgrades and performance improvements across Teardrop Island. Off The Grid remains free to play and is set to arrive on Steam later this month.

The Red Ant Battle Pass offers themed content such as the Mavinga Red Ant weapon and the Red Carded emote. Returning players can also access a loyalty reward in the form of the Wolf Tamer weapon skin. The new content aligns with the game’s gritty aesthetic while expanding the range of customization options available to players. These additions are designed to provide variety without disrupting the established tone of the game world.

About Off The Grid

Off The Grid is a third-person shooter developed by Gunzilla Games and set in a cyberpunk universe. The game combines 150-player PvP battle royale matches with a 60-hour narrative campaign. Players use cybernetic enhancements to gain unique abilities, with gameplay shaped by real-time decision-making that influences future missions and events. Match-based looting allows players to find and equip weapons and gear during active sessions.

In addition to its gameplay features, Off The Grid incorporates blockchain elements through its native GUNZ token. Players can mint in-game items as NFTs and trade them using the Gunzilla Marketplace. This web3 integration supports a digital economy within the game, providing optional pathways for item ownership and trading.

Red Ant Battle Pass and Cyberlancer Cyberlimb

A key highlight of the update is the introduction of the Cyberlancer cyberlimb. This cybernetic enhancement allows players to launch toward enemies and deploy a retractable blade from the knee. The attack not only deals immediate damage but also inflicts a bleed effect over time. Cyberlancers are now available through ground loot and HEX drops, encouraging players to explore and engage more actively in battles. The combination of high mobility and close-range power may influence how players approach combat scenarios throughout the game.

Several gameplay mechanics have been adjusted as part of this patch. Movement speed and traversal have been refined, particularly for players using jetpacks. The update increases the distance and speed of slides and extends the reach of the landing roll after jetpack use. These changes aim to support smoother transitions and more fluid map navigation, offering new tactical opportunities in both offensive and defensive situations.

Changes to the HEX Extraction Terminals have also been implemented. The update allows for quicker interaction with terminals and introduces a clearer system for hacking and resuming extraction progress. Sound cues for heatsinks have been improved to provide better feedback during extraction attempts. Additionally, a bug affecting XP gain from knockdowns has been resolved, contributing to a more consistent progression system.

Weapon Adjustments and Cyberlimb Tweaks

Weapon balance is another focus of the June patch. Assault rifles have been adjusted with a 10 percent reduction in bullet velocity, alongside tighter spread and more predictable recoil patterns. These changes are intended to encourage more controlled and skill-dependent shooting.

Cyberlimb abilities have also received updates. The Slugger limb now leaves behind a larger area of sticky substance, reducing enemy movement to a quarter of the base speed. The goo effect spreads more efficiently, increasing its usefulness in area control. The Slamfist limb received a fix to ensure that weapons unholster correctly when cancelling a charge during a weapon swap.

Lobby Performance Optimization

Beyond gameplay, the patch addresses several quality-of-life issues. Full-body skin previews now display correctly, and scoreboard scaling errors have been resolved to avoid overlapping text. A previously existing typo in the Orange Puffer Vest's name has been corrected. Lobby performance has also been optimized, improving overall frame rates and reducing visual artifacts such as camera clipping during death animations and lighting glitches from zipline use.

A new victory screen has been introduced, replacing the former static win message with a cinematic overlay that provides a more defined conclusion to matches. This addition aims to better showcase a player’s success in-game. The Red Ant Battle Pass and Cyberlancer update reflect Off The Grid’s ongoing development and its focus on expanding both gameplay depth and player engagement. As the game continues to evolve, further updates are expected to enhance its mechanics, visuals, and integration with emerging technologies.
