Why Move to Immutable zkEVM?

Norma in Metaland originally launched on Klaytn (now Kaia Chain) before expanding to Polygon and BNB Chain for broader blockchain support. Now, the game is making another major transition to Immutable zkEVM, a blockchain designed specifically for gaming. This move is aimed at making blockchain interactions smoother, cheaper, and more player-friendly. The key reason for this migration is to offer lower fees, faster transactions, and stronger security without compromising on decentralization. While the previously used chains provided relatively low transaction costs, Immutable zkEVM is optimized for gaming, making transactions even more affordable and efficient.

By shifting to Immutable zkEVM, Norma in Metaland also benefits from Ethereum-level security, without the high gas fees typically associated with the Ethereum network. What Happens to $GRAM and $CANDY Tokens?

With Norma in Metaland migrating to Immutable zkEVM, its two key tokens, $GRAM and $CANDY, are also making the transition. The $GRAM token, which serves as the governance token of the GRAM ecosystem, allows holders to participate in ecosystem upgrades and governance decisions. It can also be swapped for $CANDY, the in-game currency used for purchases and upgrades. Originally launched on Kaia Chain (formerly Klaytn), $GRAM was recently fully migrated to Base. Starting March 2025, the monthly $GRAM airdrop for Norma NFT holders will be distributed in $GRAM (Base) instead of $GRAM (Kaia), as Kaia Chain is no longer active within the GRAM ecosystem. However, $GRAM will also be launched on Immutable zkEVM, meaning that once the migration is complete, the monthly airdrop will transition from $GRAM (Base) to $GRAM (Immutable zkEVM).

Meanwhile, the $CANDY token, which serves as the in-game utility token, will also transition to Immutable zkEVM. This means that all $CANDY held within the game will be automatically converted from $CANDY (Kaia) to $CANDY (Immutable zkEVM) after the migration. Any $CANDY withdrawn from the game will now be in $CANDY (Immutable zkEVM) instead of its previous version. Players who hold $CANDY outside the game will receive a detailed guide on how to manually migrate their tokens.
