Norma in Metaland, the web3 reboot of the popular mobile game Cooking Adventure, is scheduled to relaunch on March 31 on Immutable zkEVM. The updated version introduces new token mechanics, enhanced reward opportunities, and a deeper integration with the GRAM ecosystem. Originally launched in 2015, Cooking Adventure attracted over 3.3 million players worldwide, gaining popularity in South Korea, Japan, the United States, and Europe. With its return, the game aims to combine familiar cooking mechanics with blockchain-based incentives.

Norma in Metaland incorporates customization and competition to enhance gameplay. Players can equip the main character, Norma, with costumes that provide performance buffs. These buffs can be further strengthened with additional items from Dr. Albert’s Lab. However, each buff applies only to a single restaurant at a time, and switching locations requires spending $CANDY, encouraging strategic decision-making.
Competitive elements are a significant aspect of the game, particularly through the World Chef Championship. This leaderboard-based event consists of five-stage tournaments played across three rotating restaurants. Two of these locations are determined by the GRAM DAO, with voting conducted using staked $GRAM(PUS) via the GRAM Staking Portal. Players’ rankings are based on aggregate scores, with top competitors earning significant $CANDY rewards.
Norma in Metaland Relaunches with Immutable Integration
The game’s play-to-earn model revolves around $CANDY, its primary utility token. Players earn $CANDY by completing restaurant stages, receiving 3 $CANDY per stage in Normal Mode and 4 $CANDY per stage in Master Mode. Those who complete all stages in Master Mode are awarded additional incentives, including 50 $CANDY and tickets to the World Chef Championship (WCC).
The use of $CANDY extends beyond earning rewards, as it also serves as a resource for upgrading restaurant interiors and kitchens. Interior upgrades enhance customer wait times and increase tip amounts, while kitchen improvements boost revenue per dish. However, players must balance these upgrades with skill-based gameplay, as high-tier rewards can still be achieved without relying on every enhancement.

In addition to skill-based earnings, the game introduces a chance-based mechanic through the Cake Festival. Players can participate by spending 1 $CANDY to spin a wheel, with each spin guaranteeing a reward. While high-value prizes are rare, one player previously won 80,045 $CANDY through this feature.
To support the in-game economy, players can also acquire $CANDY by purchasing $GRAM(PUS) on the MEXC exchange and converting it through a dedicated swap pool. Currently, $GRAM(PUS) operates on the Base chain, but an Immutable zkEVM-compatible version is set to launch in April. The $GRAM(PUS) ↔ $CANDY swap pool will be introduced shortly after, allowing seamless asset conversion within the ecosystem.

Norma in Metaland is available on Android, iOS, and web platforms. The integration with Immutable zkEVM is expected to provide a more seamless gaming experience with improved scalability and reward distribution. The relaunch represents a key milestone in the GRAM ecosystem’s broader roadmap, combining tokenized game mechanics with an established intellectual property to offer an accessible and engaging player experience.
