LEGO’s new Game Boy model brings back the iconic handheld in brick form, complete with swappable Zelda and Mario cartridges. Pre-orders open July 24, 2025.
LEGO is bringing back one of the most iconic pieces of gaming hardware - this time in brick form. The LEGO Game Boy model building set is a detailed, near life-size replica of Nintendo’s original handheld console, and it’s loaded with all the nostalgic touches fans of the classic system will recognize.
The 421-piece set recreates the Game Boy’s familiar gray body and classic button layout, including the +Control Pad, A and B buttons, and the SELECT and START buttons. It even includes molded details like the volume dial and contrast adjustment, staying true to the device that defined mobile gaming in the late '80s and '90s.

To crank the nostalgia dial even higher, the LEGO Game Boy model includes a brick-built Game Pak slot and two interchangeable cartridges based on The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land. Builders can choose to display the Game Boy with one of three included screen options: the iconic Nintendo start-up screen or a screen representing either of the two included games.
While the model isn’t functional, it’s meant to be a display piece for fans of both retro gaming and LEGO design. The attention to detail gives it that authentic feel - right down to the cartridge slot in the back - and it’s a faithful homage to one of Nintendo’s most beloved consoles.

LEGO has been diving deep into video game history lately, and this model fits right in with other sets like the LEGO NES and various Super Mario collections. It’s not just for display, either - it’s the kind of build that invites you to relive a bit of gaming history while putting it together.

The LEGO Game Boy model is available for pre-order starting July 24, 2025, and it officially launches on October 1, 2025. You’ll be able to pick it up at LEGO Stores, LEGO.com, and select retailers worldwide.
Whether you grew up with a Game Boy in your hands or you’re just a fan of Nintendo’s legacy, this set offers a unique way to celebrate a handheld legend - brick by brick.
