Valhalla, FLOKI’s NFT-based MMORPG, launches on mainnet June 30. Explore Norse-inspired gameplay, turn-based combat, and web3 earning features.
FLOKI, a cryptocurrency project with a focus on community-driven development, is preparing to launch its long-awaited metaverse game, Valhalla, on mainnet on June 30. The game, which is already live in testnet at valhalla.game, is built as a play-to-earn MMORPG that combines NFT ownership, strategic turn-based combat, and open-world multiplayer exploration. The mainnet release will bring full earning capabilities through the FLOKI token, along with deeper integration into the broader FLOKI ecosystem.

Valhalla is designed as more than a conventional blockchain game. It represents the central utility product within the FLOKI ecosystem and reflects the project’s mission to create meaningful use cases for its token. Inspired by Norse mythology, the game allows players to explore an expansive online world where they can tame and battle creatures known as Veras, collect resources, and complete quests. Gameplay is designed to be skill-based and strategic, with a turn-based combat system that takes place on a hexagonal grid. This system requires players to plan their moves and use Vera abilities effectively to overcome opponents.

All in-game assets, including Veras, equipment, and items, are represented as NFTs stored on-chain. This structure allows players to fully own and trade their assets within the ecosystem. The game runs entirely in a web browser, removing barriers to entry and making it accessible to both web3-native users and traditional gamers. No major downloads are required, which aligns with FLOKI's goal to offer a seamless gaming experience.
According to FLOKI’s Community Relations Officer Pedro Vidal, the development of Valhalla is grounded in long-term value rather than short-term attention. Vidal stated that the team is committed to building a game that addresses the challenges commonly found in blockchain gaming, including unsustainable economies and poor gameplay design. He emphasized that Valhalla is not being created solely to generate hype, but to offer an enjoyable and rewarding experience for players that integrates the benefits of web3 technology.

The mainnet launch of Valhalla will enable players to earn FLOKI tokens through various in-game activities, including player-versus-environment (PvE) quests, player-versus-player (PvP) battles, and trading within the in-game economy. The open-world structure allows players to form alliances, chat in real time, and participate in a dynamic digital economy shaped by user interaction.
Towns, non-player characters (NPCs), and landmarks serve as central hubs for quests, trading, and community activity. The battle component shifts to a more focused turn-based mode, where players engage in tactical duels using their Vera creatures. Each Vera has its own abilities and stats, and success in combat depends on predicting and countering the opponent’s strategies. This approach supports a balanced and skill-driven game environment.
Leading up to the mainnet release, the Valhalla testnet has been receiving steady updates to improve gameplay and introduce new features. The most recent version, 0.35.0, added new Veras, enchanted amulets to enhance combat strategy, and a resource called Vera Essence. These ongoing updates reflect the project’s effort to build depth and replayability into the game from the start. Players can access the testnet now through the official website to experience the combat system, open-world exploration, and NFT interactions that will define the mainnet version.

To support the launch, FLOKI has initiated a global marketing campaign across multiple platforms. A YouTube campaign began on June 20, targeting viewers in the United States, Latin America, and Asia. This was followed by a Twitch campaign that started on June 16, reaching audiences in the United States, Brazil, and Turkey. Additionally, in-game mobile advertisements in popular titles such as Candy Crush and Call of Duty: Mobile are expected to generate over two million impressions.
Valhalla’s marketing efforts also extend into the physical world. FLOKI was recently named the Presenting Partner of the 2025 Global Esports Industry Week, an event focused on competitive gaming. The project also sponsored the Baroda Premier League, a cricket tournament with an estimated audience of more than 10 million viewers. In the esports sector, FLOKI has partnered with Method, a global esports organization known for its competitive teams and content channels. In the United States, the Valhalla campaign has reached mainstream audiences through national TV ads and digital billboards in high-traffic locations like Times Square.
The upcoming launch of Valhalla on mainnet marks a significant milestone for both FLOKI and the broader web3 gaming space. By offering a mix of strategic gameplay, real ownership of assets, and integrated earning mechanisms, Valhalla aims to deliver a balanced and engaging experience for players. The project’s combination of web3 infrastructure, accessible browser-based design, and focus on user ownership sets it apart from many existing blockchain games.
