MyPrize, an emerging player in the online gaming arena, has revealed its secured funding of $13 million from investors including Dragonfly and Boxcars Ventures. This investment, structured across two rounds, signifies a significant milestone for the multiplayer crypto gaming platform.

Co-founder Zach Bruch disclosed that the funding, comprising equity with token warrants, was instrumental in solidifying MyPrize's market presence. The initial round of $5 million concluded in October, followed by an $8 million infusion this month, demonstrating investor confidence in the platform's potential.

From Recur to MyPrize 

MyPrize distinguishes itself as a multiplayer crypto gaming platform that offers a diverse range of games while integrating streaming features to enhance user collaboration. Co-founder Zach Bruch highlighted the platform's goal of transforming the online gaming landscape by facilitating seamless multiplayer experiences.

"MyPrize takes all of the fun of the existing single-player online gaming market and makes it multiplayer," said Bruch, emphasizing the platform's innovative approach.

Prior to MyPrize, Bruch co-founded the NFT platform Recur, which ceased operations in August due to unforeseen challenges. Undeterred, Bruch launched MyPrize in September, with the platform now entering early access mode, paving the way for a full-scale launch in the second quarter of this year.

Leading the investment efforts were Dragonfly and Boxcars Ventures, alongside notable names such as a16z Scout, Mechanism Capital, Arrington Capital, Breed VC, JST Capital, 2 Punks Capital, and several angel investors from the gaming and blockchain sectors.

Unlocking Rewards 

Accompanying the platform's debut is the introduction of MyPrize's rewards program, allowing users to earn XP points. Available on both U.S. and international sites, XP points can be accrued through various activities, including referrals, with users competing for a share of the $100,000 prize pool.

Bruch refrained from commenting on whether XP points would eventually be converted into MyPrize's native token, indicating potential future developments within the platform's ecosystem.

With its innovative approach to online gaming and substantial funding backing, MyPrize is positioned to make a significant impact in the multiplayer crypto gaming landscape, offering a glimpse into the future of gaming experiences.
