Moonbeam Network Partners with Animo Industries

Moonbeam Network, a leading smart contract platform based in Singapore, is making significant strides in the gaming sector through its strategic partnership with game studio Animo Industries. The collaboration marks Moonbeam's entry into the realm of web3 gaming, focusing on transforming user experiences within Animo's ecosystem.

Moonbeam Network, known for its cross-chain connected applications, aims to utilize blockchain technology to elevate Animo's flagship multiplayer video game, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and real-world collectibles. Despite recent challenges in the blockchain gaming industry, both Moonbeam and Animo Industries are poised to navigate the landscape, capitalizing on the resurgence of crypto prices.

Player Ownership

Blockchain integration brings promises of secure and transparent transactions, player ownership of in-game assets, and real economic incentives. However, obstacles such as player onboarding to web3 and concerns about inferior web3 gameplay quality compared to traditional games pose challenges for mainstream adoption.

In response to these challenges, Moonbeam and Animo Industries emphasize prioritizing gamers and enhancing user experiences over token-earning mechanisms or technology for its own sake.

Eduardo Cabrera, CEO of Animo, expressed confidence in Moonbeam's support, stating, "Moonbeam stood out from the crowd as their support for ANIMO has been incredibly helpful and unwavering since some time ago already. We are confident that players will find a good home for their items in the Moonbeam Network."

Web3 IP: Stars Arena

Animo Industries, with over two years of development, is gearing up to launch Stars Arena, a premium third-person mech-shooter online multiplayer game. The game, accompanied by an NFT collection and real-world collectibles, is set to be available on platforms such as Epic Games, Steam, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

Sicco Naets, head of ecosystem development at Moonbeam Foundation, highlighted the collaboration's significance, stating, "Our partnership with Animo Industries is a sign of our shared commitment to bring web3 gaming to a broader audience."

Naets emphasized moving beyond the conventional Play2Earn model and technology-centric approaches, prioritizing gamers and ensuring web3 adds meaningful utility to core gameplay mechanics.

NFT Collection

Animo's NFT collection has already seen substantial success, generating over 3,000 ETH in trade volume since December 2021, equivalent to almost $7 million at current prices. Stars Arena is scheduled to launch publicly on March 1st 2024, promising players a "new and immersive gaming experience".

Moonbeam, integrating functionality from Ethereum, Cosmos, Polkadot, and more into a unified platform, addresses the fragmented user experience in the blockchain space. With integrated cross-chain messaging and a developer-friendly EVM platform, Moonbeam provides an ideal environment for building connected applications, unlocking true interoperability for the next generation of applications.
