Moku announces the shutdown of Moku Questing and Tamameme as it refocuses efforts on Grand Arena and Discord-based tools. Learn what this means for users and future plans.

Moku, a web3 gaming project founded by Hantao, has announced plans to discontinue two of its current initiatives - Moku Questing and Tamameme. This decision reflects the team’s intention to streamline its operations and focus resources on Grand Arena, its primary product under development, as well as improved engagement tools within Discord, and a new casual puzzle game.

Moku Questing to Be Deactivated Within 48 Hours

Moku Questing, which has been hosted on the Moku HQ website, will be turned off within 48 hours of the announcement. Users who have accumulated points through the platform will have them transferred to a new questing tool integrated into Moku’s Discord server. The team also plans to launch a shop within Discord that will offer rotating rewards, providing continued utility for users participating in the updated system.

Progress such as levels and past activity from the Moku HQ site will be recorded and preserved, allowing for potential use in future applications. According to the team, the original version of Moku Questing was developed to support multiple partners launching on the Ronin blockchain. However, as the platform shifts toward building its own games and products, this broad approach has become less aligned with current objectives.

With questing now available in Discord and expected to expand further within Grand Arena, maintaining multiple overlapping systems is no longer considered efficient. The team also noted that recent gaming token generation events have not yielded strong results, reducing the incentive to collaborate with external games for reward-based integrations.

Tamameme Set to Shut Down Within Two Weeks

Tamameme will also be phased out, with the shutdown scheduled to take place within the next two weeks. While the frontend of the platform will be turned off, the underlying smart contract will remain active. Users who already hold tokens on Katana or who have migrated tokens will not be impacted. Token holders will still be able to sell their tokens both before and after the shutdown, although after the frontend is deactivated, pricing information will no longer be available, and users will only see the corresponding amount of RON they can receive.

In addition, the Tamameme validator component will cease functioning. This means users will no longer be able to vote or participate in buybacks. Some of the tokens from Tamameme are expected to be repurposed as rewards in the new Discord shop. The Moku team has also stated that further utility for these tokens may be explored once Grand Arena is launched. For now, those interested in continued participation are encouraged to join the Discord community.

Focus Shifts Toward Grand Arena

The decision to sunset these two products aligns with Moku’s broader strategy of focusing on the development and growth of Grand Arena. The team stated that Tamameme was originally built quickly - in just two months - and was able to capture early interest through the Open Ronin initiative. However, given the current state of the blockchain ecosystem, including lower chain activity and reduced demand for token launch platforms, continuing to maintain and support Tamameme is no longer feasible.

Looking ahead, Moku will be investing its efforts in expanding its presence within Discord and in the rollout of Grand Arena. The community is invited to stay involved through Discord, where updates, new reward systems, and future developments will continue to be shared.
