Our inaugural GAM3 Awards features over 30 members on its jury to help recognize the best "gam3s" in each of the 16 categories. The event takes place on December 15, and will be livestreamed across all our socials. It is time to get everyone familiar with each member of our jury. We got the opportunity to sit down with each of them to ask them a set questions to help you get to know them more personally, their favorite gaming moment growing up, what pushed them to make the jump into web3 gaming, and their outlook on the future of blockchain gaming.
Very few can imagine the current gaming world without Twitch, and that's for good reason. Twitch averages around 100K channels live at anytime, and around 2.5 Million 7-day average viewers. One of the main people behind it all, Justin Kan, decided to enter the web3 world and start a new adventure after the fascinating success he had with Twitch. Justin Kan is the founder of Fractal, an NFT marketplace specialized in gaming.
We got the opportunity to sit down with Justin to get to know him more personally. The Fractal founder gave us his favorite gaming moment growing up, how does he see the current state of the NFT and gaming sectors within web3, and why he decided to leave behind the giant he built to write a new story.
I saw someone following me in counterstrike, ducked around a corner and hid, waited for him to walk past me, and ganked him.
Everyone was talking about what utility NFTs would have. There is one kind of virtual good that already has a huge multibillion dollar market, and that’s virtual goods in games. The transition of games of NFTs seemed clear.
I’m excited about so many studios started by web2 gaming veterans spinning up. In 18 months the games will be sick.
We want to power web3 gaming by partnering with the best studios. We win if our partners win.
