A delegation from Medieval Empires, led by CEO Jan Berkefeld, Co-founder and Chief Visionary Officer Assad Dar, along with Senior Legal Counsel of Moon Group Khubaib Naeem, recently traveled to Pakistan to explore opportunities for investment and strategic collaboration in the digital economy, gaming, and blockchain sectors. The visit aimed to establish connections that could support the growth of Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and enhance cooperation between international and local stakeholders.
Medieval Empires Explores Expansion in Pakistan
Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is the fifth-most populous country in South Asia, with a population of over 241.5 million. According to a recent report by Niko Partners, the combined gaming markets of Asia and the MENA region are expected to reach a total value of $96 billion by 2029. As of 2024, the total market volume stood at $86.6 billion. Niko Partners forecasts an average annual growth rate of 2.1% over the next five years, making these regions particularly attractive to web3 gaming.
The report positions these regions as the largest contributors to the global gaming industry, currently accounting for more than half of the world’s gaming revenue and user base. The number of gamers in Asia and MENA is expected to reach 2 billion by the end of 2029, surpassing the combined player base of the rest of the world. Within Asia, China, Japan, and South Korea are projected to be the leading contributors in terms of revenue. By 2029, these three countries are expected to generate 88.7% of the total revenue from the Asian and MENA markets.

These meetings focused on identifying potential areas of cooperation and discussing ways to facilitate investments in Pakistan’s expanding technology landscape.
The conversations also emphasized the importance of collaboration to advance the country’s digital economy. The delegation held further discussions with representatives from organizations such as the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP), and the National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies (NICAT).
In addition, the delegation engaged with key business bodies including the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), and the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries. These interactions were part of a broader effort to explore strategic alliances and investment opportunities across various sectors within Pakistan’s digital and technological ecosystem.
