MapleStory Universe, Nexon’s web3 gaming IP, has reached a total of 1,711,132 NFTs minted as of Monday, May 12, 2025. This milestone comes just days before the launch of MapleStory N, the first game to be released under the MapleStory Universe banner. The project has seen growing community engagement since the public mint for MSU Scroll NFTs began on May 6.

Over 1 Million NFT Mints

Within the first eight hours of the public mint, over 100,000 MSU Scroll NFTs had been claimed. That number rose to 300,000 within the first 12 hours. The NFTs are hosted on the Avalanche blockchain and were made available for free through the OpenSea marketplace. Each wallet is limited to one scroll, and each NFT provides access to exclusive in-game items within MapleStory N.

Public Mint Concludes as Launch Nears

The public mint period ended on May 12, just days ahead of the official game release. The campaign is part of Nexon’s broader strategy to introduce web3 elements into its established MapleStory franchise, aiming to offer utility-driven digital assets that support in-game progression. The strong response to the MSU Scrolls highlights the growing interest in blockchain-enabled game features when paired with recognizable IP.

High Engagement Recorded During MSU Testnet

Ahead of the launch, Nexpace, Nexon’s dedicated web3 division, shared additional data from the MapleStory Universe testnet. During the playtest period, the platform recorded 972,000 unique wallet registrations. This makes MapleStory Universe one of the few web3 gaming projects to approach the one million wallet mark during a pre-release phase.

In-game activity metrics also indicated a high level of user engagement. A reported 76 percent of the circulating in-game tokens were spent during the test period, suggesting that players were actively interacting with available game mechanics. A total of 506,000 players participated in the testnet, with about half regularly engaging with the MapleStory N experience.
