Nexon has announced a limited-time Enhanced Reward Experience Event for MapleStory N, which will take place from May 17 to May 31, 2025. This initiative follows the official launch of MapleStory N and serves as a thank-you to the game’s growing player base for its active participation and continued engagement. The event is designed to support character development by increasing in-game rewards for a temporary period. The exact start time of the event will be announced separately by the developers.

The Enhanced Reward Experience Event is part of a broader effort by Nexon to recognize the enthusiasm shown by the community surrounding MapleStory N's debut. According to the development team, the event reflects appreciation for the high levels of support both prior to and after the game’s release. During this period, players will see a boost in NESO rewards from all boss content, allowing for faster in-game progression. Additionally, Honor EXP items and EXP Coupons will become available through standard monster hunting in the field, giving players further opportunities to level up their characters more efficiently.

Continued Expansion of the MapleStory Universe

MapleStory N is the first full release within the MapleStory Universe, a larger initiative from Nexon that aims to integrate web3 functionality into its established intellectual property. The game builds on the visual style and 2D side-scrolling gameplay that defined the original MapleStory while introducing blockchain-based mechanics through the Avalanche-powered Henesys network. These updates include gasless transactions and tradable in-game assets, forming the basis of a player-driven economy.

The broader MapleStory Universe also includes projects currently in development, such as MapleStory N Mobile, which will bring the experience to handheld devices; MapleStory N Worlds, a sandbox platform focused on user-generated content; and the MapleStory N SDK, which will provide tools for third-party developers to create web3 applications using MapleStory assets. All of these projects fall under the direction of NEXPACE, Nexon’s web3-focused division headquartered in Abu Dhabi.

Pre-Launch Activities and Blockchain Integration

Before the official release on May 15, 2025, MapleStory N underwent a series of early engagement campaigns and pre-launch testing phases. From May 6 to May 12, a Primary Drop Campaign on OpenSea allowed players to mint the MSU Scroll SBT. Over 1.7 million wallets participated in this event, demonstrating strong interest in the blockchain components of the game.

Scroll holders began receiving exclusive in-game items starting May 13, and additional rewards continue to be distributed to players who achieve specific milestones, such as the 4th Job Advancement. MapleStory N incorporates blockchain elements without altering the fundamental gameplay. The Henesys network supports gasless transactions, allowing users to mint and trade items without incurring standard blockchain fees.

A key system, called Reward Experience 2.0, encourages meaningful item acquisition by focusing on limited-edition, tradable assets. NESO, the in-game currency, is initially earned through tasks and quests and can be converted to an on-chain format for use in the broader web3 ecosystem. NXPC, the utility token used across the MapleStory Universe, supports item generation and merging through two functions called Fission and Fusion. The token is limited to a supply of one billion and is central to item creation and exchange within the game's blockchain economy.

During the public testing phases, MapleStory N recorded more than 31.5 million on-chain transactions. Engagement remained consistent, with retention rates between 47 and 54 percent, and nearly one million wallets registered during testing. These early indicators point to sustained interest in the combination of traditional gameplay with blockchain-based systems.

As part of the game’s launch, players who participated in pre-release events can now claim a portion of 14.2 million NXPC tokens at msu.io/claim. These tokens are compatible with various platforms and can be used within MapleStory N, staked for in-game benefits, or traded through services such as Binance Alpha and PancakeSwap.
