MapleStory N's July 24 update brings six new heroes, the Maple Legion system, a reworked NFT Collection feature, and the Heroes Fiesta event. Learn more about these additions to the web3-based MMORPG.
MapleStory N has released its largest content patch since its global launch in May, introducing several gameplay systems and features as part of its 2025 Summer Update. The July 24 update includes the launch of the Heroes Fiesta event, the implementation of the Maple Legion cross-character growth system, and a complete rework of the NFT Collection mechanic. These updates reflect Nexpace’s ongoing effort to integrate traditional MMORPG elements with web3 infrastructure within the MapleStory Universe platform.
MapleStory N's Big Summer Update
As part of the update, six new hero classes are scheduled to be released in two phases during August. On August 7, players will be able to unlock Mercedes, Phantom, and Aran. On August 21, the remaining three heroes (Evan, Luminous, and Shade) will become available.
Each of these characters introduces new skill sets and playstyles that add depth to the existing class options in MapleStory N. To encourage exploration of the new heroes, players will receive growth rewards such as Hero Coins and Fiesta Coins for leveling them. These additions offer new opportunities for character progression and allow both new and veteran players to engage with fresh gameplay experiences.

Running through September 17, the Heroes Fiesta event provides various ways for players to earn event-specific currencies. Open to all minted characters, the event features daily and weekly missions, boss battles, and mini games. Participants earn Fiesta Coins and Hero Coins by completing in-game activities ranging from monster hunting and rune activation to elite boss battles and mini-content challenges.
Weekly missions emphasize boss encounters, with increased rewards tied to more difficult fights such as those against Damien and Lotus. These coins can be exchanged in dedicated Coin Shops for items that support character growth and enhancement, including stat rings, rebirth flames, and cube items.
Additional event features include a check-in system, experience bonuses, and temporary buffs through the Call of Heroes mechanic. Rotating character bonuses are available for select heroes, including Phantom, Evan, and Aran. Players can also earn coins through various minigames, including One Card, Tangyoon Restaurant, and Bingo, which provide alternate forms of participation beyond combat content.
MapleStory N's Big Summer Update
The introduction of the Maple Legion system marks a significant expansion in long-term character development. This system allows players to designate leveled characters as Legion members, each of whom contributes passive stat bonuses to the entire account.
By assigning characters to a Synergy Grid, players can accumulate stats that apply to all characters on the same server. Legion Raids enable these characters to automatically battle raid bosses, earning Legion Coins that can be used to purchase items that support progression, including potions, equipment, and upgrade tools.
As a player’s total Legion level increases, additional character slots and grid space become available. Players can further enhance the performance of their grid by applying Block Boosts to specific slots. Weekly missions and rank-based objectives offer ongoing incentives to participate in this system, which is designed to encourage multi-character development and provide cumulative benefits.

The update also includes a complete rework of the NFT Collection system, aimed at increasing the utility of NFT-based items within the game. A new Bind feature allows players to lock NFTs to their account for up to 90 days, with longer binding periods contributing more to the collection’s overall score. These scores can be assigned to specific character stats, including STR, DEX, Attack, and Boss Damage, offering players more flexibility in character customization.
The system also supports stat reassignment, allowing players to reset and reallocate their investments at any time. All previously registered NFTs will be retroactively credited with bind scores based on their original registration dates. This change ensures that all NFTs, regardless of tier, hold potential value in contributing to account progression beyond their market worth.
MapleStory N's Big Summer Update
Alongside content additions, the July 24 patch introduces several class balance changes. Notably, Explorer jobs such as Hero, Paladin, and Bishop have received reworks to improve skill performance and utility.
Damage output, cooldown times, and skill effects have been adjusted to enhance each class’s viability in combat scenarios. Additional improvements include increased attack ranges and new skill effects for several classes, with the goal of creating a more balanced and engaging gameplay environment.
The update also addresses longstanding technical issues. Enhancements include improvements to the lie detector feature, extended item lock durations to protect account security, and the introduction of a login refresh button to assist players encountering access issues.
The NESO Drop Event is now live as part of the update. For a limited time, all field monsters and bosses offer increased NESO rewards. This applies to standard and chaos versions of bosses such as Zakum, Hilla, Magnus, and Papulatus, with newer and more challenging bosses like Lotus and Damien offering the highest returns.
Players can activate Call of Heroes Fever Skills up to 20 times per day to temporarily increase both experience and NESO drop rates. These skills reset daily and provide a structured method to maximize progression during the event period.
MapleStory N's Big Summer Update
Looking beyond the current update, Nexpace plans to expand the MapleStory Universe with the release of over a dozen new applications by late 2025 and early 2026. These tools will be available on web and mobile platforms and are designed to allow players to manage their gear, items, and quests outside the main game. Some applications will support automated gameplay features, such as delegated grinding.
The MSU platform will also open up development opportunities through API access, allowing third-party developers to create applications that integrate with MapleStory N. The platform is structured to distribute the majority of its NXPC token supply to active contributors, reinforcing a community-driven approach to development and expansion.
