Magmic, headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, has unveiled an exciting web3 mobile and web game based on the MLB license. Set in the world of baseball, this "idle tycoon" style game allows players to ascend to the status of a baseball magnate.

The announcement took place at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, where Magmic showcased its latest creation during an exclusive invitation-only game reveal party. A closed beta test for the game is on the horizon.

Mo Agha, CEO of Magmic, stated: "We're thrilled to unveil our new game at GDC. Magmic's dedication to delivering an engaging gaming experience with true in-game asset ownership sets us apart in the realm of web3 gaming."

According to Mo Agha, CEO of Magmic, this game marks the company's debut into the web3 domain. Agha explained that players will experience managing businesses, building ballparks, and simulating baseball games within the framework of the Major League Baseball license.

Web3 and NFTs

With a history of innovation dating back to 2002, Magmic has been at the forefront of mobile game development. Their early adoption of web3 technology and integration of NFTs into titles like Passport Rummy paved the way for this latest venture.

Hot on the heels of the successful launch of UFC Fight Card Rummy, Magmic aims to captivate players with its MLB game, expected to launch in late 2024. Utilizing web3 technology, the game will feature tradeable players, yet remain accessible as a free-to-play web2 title, ensuring compatibility with mobile platforms such as Google and Apple.

With a dedicated team of 36 individuals, Magmic is poised to continue its legacy of delivering innovative and engaging gaming experiences for players worldwide.
