L3E7 Receives Grant From Arbitrum Foundation

The developers behind L3E7, a 3D location-based service (LBS) blockchain game, have confirmed they have secured a grant from the Arbitrum Foundation. This grant provides the team with additional resources to continue developing their anime-themed open-world role-playing game. The game blends anime-style visuals with blockchain features, and the support from the Arbitrum Foundation underscores the potential seen in the project as part of the broader web3 gaming space.

About L3E7

L3E7 is a 3D location-based game that integrates real-world exploration with digital gameplay. By leveraging advanced technology, L3E7 offers a unique blend of physical and virtual experiences. Players navigate their real-world surroundings to complete in-game challenges, making each play session distinct and engaging. The name L3E7 stands for "Life, Exploration, and Experience in 7 dimensions," reflecting the game's aim to enrich players' lives through immersive experiences.

In March, the developers launched the L3E7 Mobile Vanguard Test, a limited-time playtest that was open to users with access codes distributed through giveaways and NFT holder snapshots. The test allowed participants to play on Windows, Mac, and Android, and included leaderboard rewards such as NFTs and Stardust, a resource that can be converted into the upcoming $L3E7 token. The test concluded on April 3, and all in-game purchases made during the event were fully refunded to participants.

Role of the Arbitrum Grant in Game Development

Although the exact terms of the grant have not been publicly disclosed, the team noted that this funding will aid them in building a next-generation RPG experience that integrates real-world exploration with anime storytelling. By operating on the Arbitrum network, the developers are taking advantage of infrastructure known for its fast block times of 0.25 seconds and low gas fees, typically under $0.01 per transaction.

The grant is likely issued through the Arbitrum Foundation’s Gaming Catalyst Program, which aims to support developers creating games and infrastructure on the network. This program is overseen by the Arbitrum DAO and offers various forms of support, including grants, investments, technical help, marketing, and partnership opportunities. The program is open to projects at different stages of development, from early prototypes to fully launched products.

Cost-Efficient Blockchain Infrastructure

In the official announcement, the L3E7 team pointed to the growing community of anime-themed projects building within the Arbitrum ecosystem. The availability of fast and cost-efficient blockchain infrastructure is contributing to the network becoming a hub for web3 games with anime aesthetics. This trend is supported by the presence of similar projects receiving funding or forming partnerships within the same environment.

Recent examples include TRALA launching the web3 version of Game of Dice on Arbitrum, as well as Sanko and Tarta Games receiving grants to build AI-powered tools and develop their own game projects, respectively. These developments indicate a continued focus on fostering creative and engaging experiences that attract users to the platform.

Opportunities for Other Developers

The Arbitrum Foundation continues to offer grant opportunities to teams interested in building within its ecosystem. In addition to the Gaming Catalyst Program, other initiatives include the Arbitrum DAO Grant Program, which provides milestone-based funding, and the Alchemy-Arbitrum Grant Program, which offers infrastructure credits to developers working on Orbit-based rollups. These programs reflect the foundation’s broader commitment to supporting growth across various segments of the web3 space.

L3E7’s recent grant represents a step forward in the project’s development and highlights Arbitrum’s strategy to encourage innovation through targeted funding. As L3E7 continues to expand, it may also contribute to further adoption of web3 technologies within gaming communities.
