The YGG Play Summit hosted a landmark Indus tournament on November 20th, 2024, where Kadiliman Esports emerged victorious. Competing against 11 other teams, Kadiliman clinched the championship after defeating Sylphy Academy in a gripping final match. The tournament featured a prize pool of US$10,000, with Kadiliman taking home US$2,500 in USDC.

The Indus tournament was one of three esports competitions held during the YGG Play Summit, alongside events for Anichess and Arena of Faith. The Summit, a showcase for the intersection of gaming and the web3 ecosystem, also featured our first IRl GAM3 Awards!

$300K Prize Pool

In addition to their monetary prize, the team—comprising Bison, Pabi, Majo, Jayzee, and Bluetzy—earned an all-expenses-paid trip to India. They will represent the Philippines at the Indus International Tournament, an event boasting a prize pool of INR 2.5 crores (approximately US$300,000).

Bison, a key player for Kadiliman Esports, reflected on their victory, stating, “Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up.” The team is renowned for its performance across other esports titles, including DOTA 2, Valorant, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), and Honor of Kings.

The Rise of Indus in Competitive Esports

Indus, the game featured in the tournament, is a mobile battle royale developed by Indian studio SuperGaming. Set in a futuristic world inspired by Indian mythology and culture, Indus offers players diverse characters with unique skills and weaponry. With gameplay centered on survival and exploration of a shrinking map, the title has become a prominent player in the mobile esports arena.

The game has garnered significant popularity in the Asian region, with 14 million pre-registrations prior to its launch and widespread acclaim on Google Play and the iOS App Store. Its competitive framework and collaborations with third-party organizers have positioned it as a major esports contender.

SuperGaming’s Associate Director of Community, Karan Chabbra, praised the event, saying, “It was incredible to witness the level of skill displayed by the teams at the YGG Play Summit. Kadiliman Esports’ victory is a testament to the competitive spirit that Indus aims to inspire.”

GAM3 Awards Highlights

Presented in partnership with Yield Guild Games (YGG), our GAM3 Awards celebrated the achievements of 21 winners across various categories. The event, which featured 300+ in-person attendees and live broadcasts on multiple platforms, achieved a peak viewership of 48,000 concurrent viewers (CCV) and garnered over 450,000 views within the first 24 hours.

Among the standout winners, Off The Grid secured four awards, including “Game of the Year,” while Parallel followed with three honors. Pixels and Pirate Nation also performed strongly, each winning two awards. The ceremony was further enriched with exclusive gameplay and trailer premieres from titles such as Golden Tides, Unfettered, Elumia, Providence, and Shrapnel, underscoring the promising future of web3 gaming.
