Hamster Kombat introduces the Hamster Network, a layer-2 blockchain on TON offering fast, low-cost transactions to support gaming and decentralized applications within the web3 ecosystem.
Hamster Kombat, a popular game on the Telegram platform, has launched the Hamster Network, a new layer-2 blockchain built on The Open Network (TON). The launch, which took place on Tuesday, aims to provide scalable infrastructure to support games and decentralized applications (DApps) that benefit from Telegram’s extensive user base, which is approaching one billion users globally.

The Hamster Network is designed to offer fast transaction speeds and low-cost operations, making it easier for developers to build and port decentralized applications. The network utilizes the TON Virtual Machine, which ensures that smart contracts running on the Hamster Network are fully compatible with the TON ecosystem. Transactions processed on this layer-2 network have their proofs posted back to the main TON blockchain, maintaining security and consistency.
With its launch, the Hamster Network introduces several infrastructure components, including a decentralized exchange (DEX), a digital wallet, and a bridge for asset transfers. These tools are intended to provide a comprehensive environment for developers and users interacting with the network. While specific information about developers currently building on the network has not been disclosed, the project has reportedly drawn interest from multiple creators who see potential in the platform.
To facilitate network testing and improve stability, the Hamster Network has initiated a program called Hamster Boost. This initiative invites users to participate in testing quests that involve interacting with the blockchain and reporting issues. Participants receive rewards based on their contributions, which helps identify potential problems before wider adoption.

Despite the launch of the Hamster Network, the HMSTR token linked to Hamster Kombat has faced challenges. Since its debut in September, the token has received mixed feedback from the community, with some players noting low allocations during the airdrop phase. The token experienced a significant price decline, reaching an all-time low before recovering by 17 percent. As of now, the token is priced at $0.0017, which remains 76 percent below its peak value from last September.
In addition to developments around the Hamster Network, Hamster Kombat recently released its second season, called Hamster Kombat: GameDev Heroes. This update expands the game’s content and further develops the so-called "HamsterVerse," aiming to engage players with new features and gameplay within the ecosystem.

The introduction of the Hamster Network on TON’s layer-2 infrastructure represents an effort to combine blockchain scalability with the reach of popular messaging platforms. By leveraging Telegram’s large user base and providing tools for low-cost, fast transactions, the network seeks to support the growth of decentralized games and applications within the web3 space. This approach highlights a broader trend of integrating blockchain technology with existing social and communication platforms to enhance user engagement and development opportunities.
