The second Community Test for Gran Saga: Unlimited (GSU), which ran from July 6 to July 20, was a whirlwind of exciting moments and valuable insights, according to Daniel, Head of GSU Studio. In a heartfelt community address, he revealed the impressive player metrics recorded during the test, including an average playtime of over 5 hours per day and a player retention rate that exceeded their internal goal by more than 60%. These numbers earned the game a spot in our top 5 web3 games of July 2023 at the time.
Among the highlights of the test were the intense competition and sportsmanship exhibited by the players in the Chaos Field, a PvP arena that saw clans engaging in fierce battles for the coveted Tesseract. Despite the high stakes, players demonstrated camaraderie, sharing their experiences and pledging to improve for the next round.
Another key feature of the test was the 16-player raid designed by Daniel and Nathan from the GSU team. Although the raid came with its own set of challenges, such as a number of bugs and higher difficulty levels, it was well-received by the community. The first clan to successfully complete the raid, The Wardens, received high praise.
Amidst these success stories, the GSU team also acknowledged areas in the game that need improvement. These include creating smoother player progression, resolving game system design issues, and addressing player dissatisfaction with aspects like tedious grinding, class balance issues, and loot loss upon death in dungeons. The team has taken this feedback into consideration and is currently planning on how to enhance these elements of the game for a more enjoyable player experience.
Furthermore, GSU is looking to improve the in-game economic indicators and make them readily accessible to the community. This comes in light of the importance of such data for the players, as shown by the interest in the gold circulation rate and proportion of burned gold relative to circulation during the test.
Gran Saga: Unlimited's next steps are sure to be closely watched by its passionate community, as they eagerly anticipate the game's continuing evolution. As Daniel reassured the community, the GSU team is committed to creating a gaming experience that not only provides enjoyment but also fosters a positive and supportive environment for all players.
