French game developer Imagine Games has announced that its mobile title My Lovely Planet has been selected for inclusion in Google's WeArePlay campaign. According to CEO Clément Le Bras, this is the first time Google has featured a blockchain-based game as part of the initiative, which highlights innovative mobile apps and games from around the world. Le Bras stated that the recognition could help encourage a broader movement toward environmentally focused mobile gaming experiences.

My Lovely Planet is a casual match-3 puzzle game developed with the goal of creating tangible real-world outcomes through digital engagement. For every 100 levels completed by players, the company funds the planting of one tree. To date, over 380,000 trees have been planted in Madagascar through a partnership with the NGO Graine de Vie.

The game positions itself at the intersection of entertainment and sustainability, offering players a casual gameplay experience with a direct environmental contribution. In addition to tree planting, Imagine Games has allocated 15% of its global turnover toward environmental causes.

The company has also committed 15% of its in-game token supply to an Environment Treasury, which operates under a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). This structure allows token holders to participate in decisions regarding the allocation of environmental funds, further reinforcing the game's focus on sustainability.

Industry Support and Availability

My Lovely Planet has received backing from major industry players. Ubisoft supports the project through its Entrepreneur Lab program, and Unity has included it in the Unity for Humanity initiative. The game is currently available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Its inclusion in Google's WeArePlay campaign brings additional visibility to the title within the global mobile gaming community.

Blockchain Integration and Token Utility

A key feature of My Lovely Planet is its integration with blockchain technology through the My Lovely Coin (MLC). This ERC20 token launched on the Polygon blockchain in June 2024. Players can stake MLC tokens to generate Diamonds, an offchain in-game currency used within the app.

If a player has staked at least $100 worth of MLC, they have the option to convert Diamonds back into the MLC token, linking gameplay with token value. The project’s tokenomics include mechanisms to regulate supply and support the value of MLC. Forty-five percent of the game’s in-app purchase revenue is used to buy back MLC tokens from the market.

Of these repurchased tokens, 2% are burned to gradually reduce supply. In a larger supply reduction effort, 120 million MLC tokens were burned at the start of 2025. The overall goal is to bring the total supply down from its current level of approximately 230 million to 100 million tokens over time.
