Gods Unchained Adds New Cards

Gods Unchained, the free-to-play web3 trading card game developed by Immutable, is launching a new card expansion titled Age of Ascent. The set will go live on October 21 at 12 AM UTC and will be available for 28 days through limited card pack sales. The expansion introduces 24 new cards distributed across three types of packs, each containing six cards.

The Age of Ascent expansion brings several notable additions to the game. Each domain receives one card of each rarity, and the set does not include neutral cards. A highlight of the expansion is the inclusion of six Mythic Variants, which are unique 1-of-1 Legendary cards featuring exclusive artwork.

Three of these Mythic Variants (Charity, Shining Pilgrim; Thalor, Hexbinder; and Ulvar, the Grovekeeper) are exclusive to Shiny packs. Two additional Variants, Neferu, Umbral Accountant, and Mayday, Jaded Admiral, can appear in Booster, Premium, and Shiny packs. The final Variant, Oddi and Glinn, is only obtainable through a seven-win Sealed run.

The expansion also introduces the Fellowship keyword, which activates when a creature from a different tribe is summoned. This triggers stat buffs and Regen for the summoned creature. For instance, Ulvar, the Grovekeeper, provides a creature from another tribe with Regen +1, +1 HP, and +1 Damage.

Age of Ascent Packs and Burning Cards

Players who spend $1,000 or more on packs will receive two Diamond copies of the exclusive Promo card Adventure Party Leader. Eligibility for these Elite rewards is determined by wallet spending, and crypto purchases are converted based on the highest exchange rate of the day using CoinGecko as the reference.

The expansion also integrates discounts through the Divine Tithings system. Players can burn cards to earn DT points, which are redeemable for up to 35% off Age of Ascent packs. A minimum of 12,000 DT points is required for a 5% discount, while 60,000 DT points grants the full 35% discount. The points awarded depend on the rarity, Shine level, and set origin of the cards burned.

Battle Pass and Weekend Ranked

Age of Ascent packs will only be available through purchase and cannot be earned via the Battle Pass, Weekend Ranked, or standard Sealed modes, except for the Oddi and Glinn Mythic Variant.

Booster packs are priced at $1.99, with 7,500 units available, Premium packs cost $19.99 with 1,000 units, and Shiny packs are $199.99 with 500 units. Premium packs guarantee a Legendary card, while Shiny packs offer increased odds of higher-rarity or exclusive cards. The developers have reserved a small number of packs for marketing purposes.

The sale will run for 28 days or until sold out, followed by a balance phase lasting four weeks, which can be extended by an additional four weeks. Cards from this expansion will not be eligible in Sealed, Weekend Ranked, or Battle Pass formats.

Built on Immutable’s zkEVM Chain

Gods Unchained operates on Immutable’s zkEVM blockchain and allows players to earn rewards through multiple gameplay systems. Battle Pass Season 7 recently launched, offering 60 levels of progression. Players earn experience points through matches, with an average of 350 XP per day sufficient to reach the final level if starting on day one.

There are two Battle Pass tracks: the Fancy Pass, which offers tokens, cards, and cosmetics, and the Whale Pass, which includes all Fancy Pass rewards plus Diamond and Gold card variants, additional packs, and premium cosmetics. Battle Pass purchases are only available through the desktop version of the game on Windows and macOS, while mobile players can still earn XP toward the Battle Pass.

Final Thoughts

Outside of the Battle Pass, Daily Play & Earn and Weekend Ranked modes allow players to earn $GODS tokens based on rank and performance. Sealed Mode provides a competitive, token-gated environment, while the Forge enables players to mint cards on-chain by burning cards and spending $GODS tokens and Flux.

The broader Immutable ecosystem continues to grow, with opportunities such as the $10,000 Slime Miner leaderboard event in October and Polygon Labs’ $100,000 reward pool through Immutable Play.
