GMonsters, the renowned Japanese game developer, and mobile game publisher MIXI, the owner of the Fight League intellectual property (IP), have joined forces to introduce three exciting games from the Fight League franchise to the Ronin Network by Sky Mavis. The collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both companies and provide Ronin users with immersive gaming experiences.
The first title to hit Ronin is "Fight League Survivor," a strategic roguelike arcade game. Featuring a unique blend of strategy, fighters, and chips offering buffs, the game introduces weekly challenges and prizes to engage players. Ronin users can anticipate participating in the closed beta of Fight League Survivor, scheduled for Q1 2024.
As part of the roadmap, a notable event is the upcoming NFT drop of Survivor Genesis Fighters, set to take place in Q1 2024. Looking ahead to Q2 2024, GMonsters plans to introduce user-generated content (UGC) features for Fight League Survivor, adding an extra layer of engagement and involvement for players.
The development pipeline also includes two other titles: "Fight League Medallion," a player-versus-player (PvP) turn-based card game, and "Fight League Missions," a loot-collecting action role-playing game (ARPG). These titles promise to expand the Fight League universe, offering diverse gaming experiences to the Ronin community.
Sky Mavis CEO and co-founder Trung Nguyen expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating: "In partnering with GMonsters, we're uniting with pioneers who share our passion for innovative gaming. MIXI’s established presence in Japan and GMonsters’ demonstrated expertise in IP and interactive entertainment plays a pivotal role in Ronin’s long-term strategy."
MIXI is most known and celebrated for the success of Monster Strike, a game that has grossed over $10 billion and garnered 61 million players, bringing its wealth of experience to the collaboration.
“The Sky Mavis team has firsthand experience on how to successfully scale web3 games and create infrastructure to meet the demands of a mass audience and this knowledge is invaluable to us. We are excited to incorporate web3 technology into our Fight League IP to provide a new means of communication,” added MIXI producer Tatsuya Abe.
On the other hand, GMonsters has an impressive track record and portfolio of successful web2 games including Crossy Road, Ski Safari, Plant vs. Zombies 2, and Sonic Dash 2, which complements MIXI's expertise.
GMonsters CEO and co-founder Jia Shen commented: “What excites us most about the Ronin and Axie Infinity ecosystems is the expansive community of passionate gamers, the robust marketing support across various channels to reach more gamers, and the presence of a professional team with an international background, akin to ours.”
