Gigaverse, an on-chain RPG developed by the GLHFers team, is set to launch soon after the Abstract blockchain goes live on its mainnet. This announcement comes as Abstract prepares to introduce itself as a consumer-oriented crypto chain. Gigaverse is designed to offer an engaging gameplay experience, combining player-versus-environment (PvE) combat, collectible NFTs, and customizable character skins at launch.

Over time, the game will expand to include player-versus-player (PvP) combat, item wagering, and other features. The game introduces a unique narrative, where players traverse an infinite universe of universes called the Gigaverse. At the core of this story is a final boss controlling this expansive reality. Securing a whitelist spot for the NFT mint on Abstract can be achieved through several methods. Players can enter the final whitelist raffle hosted on Alphabot, as linked in an official social media announcement. Alternatively, creating and sharing content related to Gigaverse or GLHFers on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) may increase the chances of being whitelisted. Holders of Genesis NFTs will automatically be included in the whitelist, ensuring access to the mint.

Role of Proof of Play

The game is built on Proof of Play’s blockchain infrastructure, a technology backed by venture capital firm a16z. Proof of Play is also known for developing the on-chain RPG Pirate Nation. Gigaverse will be the first third-party game to utilize this infrastructure, which aims to support large-scale blockchain applications. The development team plans to incorporate features like modified smart contracts and other Proof of Play services, such as verifiable randomness functions (VRF) and token mirroring, in future updates.

Access will be granted to holders of Genesis NFTs, which can be purchased on platforms like OpenSea and Blur. These NFTs also unlock various ecosystem perks. At the time of writing, the lowest floor price for the Genesis collection was approximately 0.4298 ETH.
