Barcelona-based game developer GFAL (Games for a Living) has reached a significant milestone, securing a seed investment of $3.2 million. This injection of capital brings GFAL's total funding to date to an impressive $7.6 million. The company's ascent in the gaming industry has been bolstered by a previous $4.4 million garnered from pre-sales when it introduced its $GFAL token in March 2023.
This latest funding round has attracted attention from notable investors, including Finnish mobile game giant Supercell, renowned venture capitalist Mitch Lasky from Benchmark Capital, and Heinrich Zetlmayer, former Managing Director of ESL. The backing from these industry veterans underscores the potential they see in GFAL's vision and projects.
Expressing enthusiasm for the partnership, Supercell CEO Ilkka Paananen stated, "I've had the pleasure of working together with the team earlier in my career. We are excited to be part of their journey and see all the great things they'll achieve."

Founded in 2021 by seasoned game industry professionals coming from renowned companies such as King, Activision Blizzard, EA, and Netflix, GFAL also boasts executives with ties to pioneering mobile publisher Digital Chocolate. Manel Sort commented, stating: "Working on a project alongside Trip and Ilkka, with whom I shared many thrilling and successful years at Digital Chocolate, is a dream come true, and I can't wait to show the world the high caliber of games we are building."
