GameStop's initial interest in the NFT market dates back to 2021, with the establishment of a dedicated 20-person team in January 2022 to oversee the gaming NFT marketplace. A subsequent collaboration with Immutable involved the use of Immutable X's blockchain and the establishment of a $100 million fund in Immutable's $IMX token.
