Our eagerly awaited GAM3 Awards, a significant event in the world of web3 gaming, is set to make a triumphant return this December 2023. We are excited to present our diverse and esteemed panel of judges, which includes familiar faces from 2022 and introduces new voices that represent various aspects of web3 gaming. The recent additions are especially noteworthy, as they encompass prominent figures from web3 gaming venture capital firms, experts in blockchain and ecosystem development, infrastructure partners, content creators, as well as established leaders in the gaming industry and tech giants like Amazon and Google.
We are proud to introduce one of our jury members Harrison Chang, Head of Gaming partnerships at Magic Eden. Background in professional gaming, across 4 titles: VALORANT, Fortnite, DotA 2, Heroes of the Storm. Harrison works to ensure gaming creators have successful launches and proper marketplace infrastructure.
1. What is the most enjoyable part of your role?
“The most enjoyable part of my role is to daily speculate which web3 game will take us to the promised land. As an ex-professional gamer, it’s exciting to be on the ground level of a new era of games and how they might innovate to take gaming to the next level.”
2. How do you see the progress made in web3 gaming since last year?
“The progress of web3 gaming in the last year is remarkable, considering the market landscape. In the next couple of years, I believe we’ll be seeing games coming to full fruition.”
3. What is the most valuable addition web3 brings into gaming, from your perspective, if any?
“I think the most valuable addition that blockchain can bring to gaming is smart contract technology to a heavy user-generated content economy. Many successful games have a strong community that’s invested in creating in-game content. Blockchain can provide meaningful ownership and royalty sharing.”
4. What is your outlook on 2024 and beyond for web3 gaming?
“I think that web3 gaming will be a strong narrative in the next bull market cycle. Provided that the top prospects can finish development, we’ll be seeing a massive influx into gamefi.”
