Our highly anticipated GAM3 Awards, a significant event within the web3 gaming landscape, is scheduled to return this December 2023. We've just revealed the event's jury lineup, which combines familiar faces from 2022 with fresh representatives hailing from various sectors of the web3 gaming world. Noteworthy new additions include professionals from web3 gaming venture capital firms, blockchain and ecosystem experts, infrastructure partners, and content creators, alongside established leaders in the gaming industry and technology giants like Amazon and Google.
We are proud to introduce one of our jury members Elisa, a well known web3 gaming Content Creator.
1. What is the most enjoyable part of your role?
“The people I get to work with and meet, builders and gamers alike! Nothing rivals the connections I’ve made through gaming, especially in web3.”
2. How do you see the progress made in web3 gaming since last year?
“More talent from around the world has entered the space and decided to stay despite market conditions, which speaks to their conviction in both the future of the industry and the products they’re building. I’d also add that UI/UX has significantly improved along with gameplay experience. These days I come across some games whilst playtesting and after streaming I think to myself: ‘this game was fun to play and judging from the activity in chat, equally fun to watch. It has real potential here.’ Last year, that was unheard of.”
3. What is the most valuable addition web3 brings into gaming, from your perspective, if any?
“Tradability of game assets. Yes if the publisher decides against it the NFTs would be valueless as data can be deleted through the backend. However if the marketplace is well designed, NFTs serve to signal supply and drive value. Out of all the use-cases, I still find this one to be the most compelling. You don’t need to sell a skin for $100,000 to make this feature worth it, some players just like to collect. Any gamer can understand the appeal.”
4. What is your outlook on 2024 and beyond for web3 gaming?
“I have a few theses, including mobile-first games being the biggest unlock for web3 – crypto includes market participants who had previously been isolated or unable to be economically involved, due to being bankless for instance. Nonetheless, I’m choosing to keep an open mind. Life is more surprising than we can imagine!”
