This year we have partnered with Yield Guild Games (YGG), one of the world’s largest networks of web3 gamers, to bring our GAM3 awards to the Philippines. YGG has played a crucial role in fostering the adoption of web3 technologies in the region, where its influence continues to grow. This partnership is a testament to the significance of the Philippines in the web3 gaming landscape, with many of the industry’s earliest adopters and most passionate communities based in the country.

A Historic Milestone for the GAM3 Awards

Originally launched in 2022, our GAM3 Awards have quickly become a measure of success within the blockchain gaming ecosystem. By recognizing and celebrating outstanding achievements, the awards highlight innovation and excellence across a variety of genres. In 2023, the event saw over 450,000 votes cast from 50,000 unique voters, further cementing its role as a community-driven event.

Specifically, our 2023 GAM3 Awards - called by some "The Grammys of Web3 Gaming" -  was streamed online, achieved widespread success with over 50,000 live viewers and over 250,000 views in just the first 24 hours. The event’s winners shared a prize pool of USD $2 million, with the web3 trading card game Parallel taking home multiple titles, including Game of the Year.

A New Chapter at the YGG Play Summit

The decision to host our GAM3 Awards 2024 at the YGG Play Summit marks a new chapter for the ceremony. The Summit is an annual celebration of web3 gaming, often described as "the GDC of web3 gaming." The event features conferences, expos, hackathons, tournaments, and other activities focused on the future of gaming in the decentralized space.

Previous iterations of the YGG Play Summit have attracted prominent industry figures such as Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG, Sky Mavis co-founder Jeffrey Zirlin, and Animoca Brands Executive Chairman Yat Siu. This year, the Summit will once again welcome global leaders and innovators in the field, with our GAM3 Awards acting as a highlight of the week-long event.

Our very own GAM3S.GG co-founder and CEO Omar Ghanem emphasized the importance of hosting the first physical edition of the awards in Manila, citing the Philippines as a vital hub for web3 gaming. “The Philippines has long been one of the main hubs for web3 gaming, and some of the earliest adopters and most passionate community members are based right here,” Ghanem stated.
