Our highly anticipated GAM3 Awards, a pivotal occasion within the realm of web3 gaming, is poised to make its grand comeback this December 2023. We are thrilled to introduce our diverse and illustrious jury lineup, which combines familiar faces from 2022 with fresh voices representing diverse sectors of web3 gaming. The new additions are particularly noteworthy, featuring key figures from web3 gaming venture capital firms, blockchain and ecosystem experts, infrastructure partners, content creators, in addition to well-established gaming leaders, and tech industry giants such as Amazon and Google.

We are proud to introduce one of our jury members Matt Sorg, Head of Technology at Solana Foundation. Matt is a product and tech leader that has helped multiple businesses scale, including League of Legends, and founded two successful startups, one of which was on Ethereum. Matt’s current focus is on use cases and enabling apps that users love by leveraging the performance and ecosystem of Solana.

1. What is the most enjoyable part of your role?

“My role gets me to help hundreds of businesses try and find product market fit. The innovative builders trying to solve some of our biggest problems are very inspiring.”

2. How do you see the progress made in web3 gaming since last year?

“Many used to see chains as solving the funding problem. They were seeing chains as publishers. We’re getting more and more understanding that chains are tech choices around product decisions.”

3. What is the most valuable addition web3 brings into gaming, from your perspective, if any?

“The ability to leverage your ecosystem and have them build them. Riot has great APIs. The next op.gg, blitz, analytics, etc will have even more power because blockchains allow for more access, including the ability for the community to expand the capabilities of the APIs!”

4. What is your outlook on 2024 and beyond for web3 gaming?

“More and more games will ship. It’s time to find the repeatable business models and features enabled by blockchain.”
