Barcelona-based web3 tech startup, Freeverse, and the LAOS Foundation have joined forces to unveil LAOS, a Layer-1 blockchain designed to enhance the interoperability of digital assets. The collaboration aims to tackle persistent challenges faced by existing blockchain systems, including high gas fees, throughput limitations, and congestion peaks. LAOS distinguishes itself by offering bridgeless connectivity, allowing users and developers to seamlessly operate within their existing ecosystems while decentralizing asset properties within the LAOS framework.

Alun Evans, CEO at Freeverse, highlights LAOS' capacity to handle up to one million transactions per second within Polkadot, maintaining Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility and decentralization. In response to the growing demand for real-world asset (RWA) tokenization and utility-driven assets in web3 games, LAOS' architecture enables the dynamic representation of RWAs on-chain. This ensures the accuracy and timeliness of data, promising a shift from speculative to utility-based value in the gaming sector. The platform also introduces a beta version operational in Polkadot’s 'canary' environment, Kusama. Users can immediately mint assets at marginal costs on Ethereum or Polygon while eagerly anticipating the official launch on Polkadot, scheduled for spring 2024.

Toni Mateos, the co-creator of Dolby Atmos technology, founded Freeverse. The company has garnered support from investors like Earlybird Venture Capital and Target Global, as well as notable figures such as international footballer Mario Götze and Travelperk CEO Avi Meir. Back in May 2022, Freeverse.io raised $10.5 million for blockchain-based assets that can change and evolve over time, enabling a new kind of digital ownership. Established in Zug, Switzerland, in August 2023, the LAOS Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to driving decentralized ecosystems and fostering technologies in digital ownership. The foundation aims to lead an era where digital assets seamlessly integrate into mainstream use, ensuring compliance with legislation and evolution across various blockchains.

As the digital landscape evolves, LAOS presents itself as a significant player, addressing challenges in digital asset ecosystems. The official launch on Polkadot in spring 2024 is anticipated, promising enhanced interoperability for enthusiasts and industry stakeholders in the dynamic realm of web3 games.
