May was a significant month for Fableborne, marked by the successful completion of Closed Playtest III. The playtest ran from May 18th to 21st, and it provided crucial insights that will shape the future of this leading Action RPG strategy game for Android and iOS. The game's evolution owes a lot to the dedicated testers who explored new features and faced novel challenges, providing invaluable feedback.
Some of the newest features included in this playtest were player progression, talents and island reset, tutorial updates, balancing, and bugfixes. One hero, Kiara, The Tundra’s Chosen, was the preferred choice for a majority of the testers, capturing 46% of votes.
A notable observation from the playtest was that players shifted their raiding strategies throughout the game. This shift was often due to gaining a better understanding of heroes' strengths and weaknesses and adapting to the advanced opponents' base setups. This adaptation aligns with Fableborne's goal of fostering a tactical gameplay experience.
Testers also expressed an interest in introducing new game modes. The suggestions for potential PvE and PvP variants could add an extra dimension to the Fableborne gaming experience. There were concerns about the game balance, with some testers feeling that the current mechanics favored raiding more than defending. This insight will prompt a review of the game's balance aspect.
The desire for more customization options for heroes was also expressed. Players are interested in being able to more deeply customize their heroes' abilities or progression to better suit their unique style of play.
Lastly, testers recommended the addition of more monster types for defence. This would introduce more variety and strategic options to the island defence process.
These insights, along with bug and issue reports, are invaluable in shaping the future of Fableborne. The next phase, Closed Playtest IV, is just around the corner and promises even more for players to explore and test.
