EVE Frontier Winter Classic Tournament

CCP Games has officially opened sign-ups for the Winter Classic PVP Tournament in EVE Frontier, marking the game’s first structured competitive event. The tournament is scheduled for December 6 and 7 and will feature teams of five players competing in tactical battles within the game’s designated arena. The event highlights CCP Games’ ongoing efforts to expand the multiplayer and competitive aspects of its web3 MMO.

Teams can register from November 10 at 10 AM UTC until November 24 at 2 PM UTC. Each team must have a minimum of five players, while a maximum of ten can be registered to allow for substitutes. Registration is free, and teams do not need to belong to the same in-game tribe. A team captain must be designated to manage communications with tournament officials, ensuring coordination during the event.

EVE Frontier Winter Classic Tournament

The Winter Classic will take place on the Stillness server within a controlled arena known as the Exclave Accelerator Facility. Matches will operate on a 5v5 double-elimination system, with each encounter limited to ten minutes. Teams must carefully manage positioning, movement, and line-of-sight while engaging their opponents, as the arena has a 50-kilometer boundary beyond which ships are destroyed.

Ship selection is governed by a point-based system, with each ship assigned a specific value. Teams have a maximum of 50 points to deploy their ships strategically. Unused points are automatically granted to the opposing team at the start of the match, adding an extra layer of tactical consideration. In the event of a tie after ten minutes, matches will move into sudden death mode, progressively accelerating game speed until a winner is determined, or deploying Sarana-class feral drones to force a conclusive end.

Tickets to EVE Fanfest 2026

The top three teams will receive prizes in the game’s temporary currency, Grace, which converts into EVE Points at the end of each Cycle. The first-place team will also earn five tickets to EVE Fanfest 2026, in addition to sharing 10,000 Grace. The second and third-place teams will receive 5,000 and 2,000 Grace respectively.

Beyond the main tournament, CCP Games is hosting a social media contest that allows participants to submit original images or videos promoting the event. Winners will receive Grace prizes and community recognition, with selected entries showcased on the game’s social media channels.

Teams can register through the official application form on the EVE Frontier website. Each match requires teams to provide their own ships, which will be verified by match officials for compliance with the point system. After each round, players return to their original locations, except for those whose ships were destroyed. The arena offers a mix of open spaces and tighter industrial areas, requiring teams to adapt their strategies to the environment.

MMO Set in the EVE Universe

EVE Frontier is a web3 MMO set in the EVE universe, focusing on survival, base-building, and player-driven industry. Unlike EVE Online, the game emphasizes rebuilding civilization in a resource-scarce galaxy. Players, known as Riders, awaken without memory and must navigate a dangerous environment while creating structures and systems that shape the world.

The game uses seasonal Cycles to reset the world periodically, introducing new technologies and challenges. Player creations, built through Smart Assemblies, directly influence the game’s ecosystem, creating a sandbox that rewards strategy and collaboration. The game is also planned to launch on the Sui blockchain, further integrating blockchain-based mechanics into its gameplay.
