Eternal League, the sci-fi roguelike action RPG developed by Eternal Squares, has launched a new leaderboard on Immutable Play, allowing players to earn rewards through a combination of gameplay achievements and NFT-related quests. The leaderboard, which went live on August 29, runs over a period of approximately three months. Participants can earn points by completing quests and compete to rank among the top 200 players to claim exclusive prizes. Players who link their social accounts are eligible to be randomly selected for weekly surprise rewards, with 40 participants chosen each week.

Eternal League is an in-development action RPG that combines roguelike elements with strategic combat in a top-down 3D sci-fi environment. Players select a hero and can customize its appearance, abilities, and equipment to match their preferred playstyle. Combat occurs across varied futuristic settings, including post-apocalyptic battlefields and neon-lit cities, with increasingly challenging enemy waves.

The game uses a session-based progression system that adjusts in real time to each player’s performance, offering appropriate upgrades and challenges to keep each session dynamic. Players can recruit companions, including Tanks, Rangers, and Mages, each with distinct abilities and personalities. Multiple companions can join a single session, allowing players to experiment with team compositions and discover effective strategies for surviving longer in combat.

Glyph System and Role of Immutable

Eternal League also includes a glyph system, which equips mystical runes that augment or randomize hero abilities. These glyphs introduce an additional layer of unpredictability, allowing players to unlock new combinations of skills and abilities in each playthrough.

In web3 terms, Eternal League is powered by Immutable zkEVM, enabling players to acquire NFT gear that can be traded, upgraded, or converted into crafting materials. These NFTs are intended to provide cross-game utility within the developer’s ecosystem, which will include a card game scheduled for beta release in Q4 2025.

The game initially launched in early access on Steam on March 26, 2025, as a web2 title, before releasing as a free-to-play web3 version on the Epic Games Store on June 27. The early access version includes core gameplay mechanics, five playable heroes, four levels, and ten companions. Progress is maintained through updates, and full release plans include additional heroes, levels, abilities, and expanded gameplay mechanics.

Leaderboard, Tasks and Eternal Mode

To join the leaderboard, players must download Eternal League from the Epic Games Store and register on Immutable Play using an email address or social account such as Google, Apple, or Facebook. Completing tasks earns points that determine a player’s position on the leaderboard. Linking a social account allows players to participate in weekly random draws for surprise rewards.

Most tasks on the leaderboard are related to gameplay or on-chain transactions, with one daily social tasks requiring players to share content on X. Daily gameplay tasks include earning key rewards from missions, completing an Eternal Mode run, and reaching a score of 10,000 or higher in Eternal Mode, which is the game’s endless wave-based mode. One-off tasks include completing all 16 Expedition levels, performing a primary sale transaction with USDC, purchasing the Early Supporter Pack, or holding specific NFTs in the Immutable Passport. Keys required for Expedition levels are earned by completing Miniature-based missions.

Leaderboard rewards vary depending on final rankings. The top 50 players will receive an Eternal League NFT, while the next 150 players will earn starter packs and Eternal Shards for the upcoming mobile game. Participation also grants Immutable Gems, the platform’s reward currency, which can be redeemed for Keys needed to enter weekly draws. These draws provide opportunities to earn additional Gems, $IMX tokens, free entries for future draws, or upgraded Keys.
