Engines of Fury Season 2 brings the new $FURY economy with dual tokens, NFT loot, and fresh ways to earn. Here’s how the web3 shooter is evolving.
The developers of Engines of Fury have revealed new details about the in-game economy that will launch with the start of Season 2. The update introduces a structured play and earn system that is centered on a two-tier currency model. This economy is designed to reward players for their in-game activity while maintaining economic stability within the game’s ecosystem. The $FURY economy will become a foundational aspect of gameplay as the web3 extraction shooter continues its development and expansion on the Epic Games Store.
Engines of Fury Game Economy Explained
At the center of Engines of Fury's economic system are two currencies: $ALLOY and $FURY. $ALLOY is an off-chain currency earned through gameplay, such as looting enemy players, opening Council Caches, and crafting Faction Lockboxes. These Lockboxes are created by collecting and combining six identical Faction Shards, which can be obtained through in-game activities or NFT trading on external marketplaces. Players with Initiate Mark NFTs gain access to specific maps (Fairwater and Cliffside) where they can raid and find Council Caches that may contain both $ALLOY and Faction Shards.

$ALLOY can be used to purchase in-game items such as consumables and cosmetics. It also serves as the primary means of converting earned progress into the premium $FURY token. This exchange can be made at the Trading Station within the player’s hideout. Although $ALLOY can be bought in-game, it is limited to the internal economy and cannot be transferred outside the game.
$FURY is the game’s on-chain token, live on the BNB Chain and available on both centralized and decentralized exchanges. It has a fixed supply of 120 million tokens, with 48 million in circulation at the time of writing. The token follows a deflationary model, with planned token burns funded by a portion of the game’s revenue.
$FURY can be obtained by converting $ALLOY, purchasing on the market, climbing leaderboards, or participating in community events. It is required for minting equipment as NFTs, acquiring utility NFTs, and unlocking key components of the play and earn experience. Importantly, converting equipment into NFTs offers protection from in-game looting and monthly equipment resets caused by the recurring Sporefall event.

The play and earn system in Season 2 will be enabled by specific utility NFTs that unlock access to various features within the game. The Initiate Mark NFT is particularly important, as it grants players the ability to raid maps containing Council Caches, which are necessary for earning $ALLOY. These NFTs will be available through an upcoming presale and can also be obtained through special events or by exchanging specific in-game items.
Another essential NFT is the Diffusion Drive Core, which powers a hideout module called the Diffusion Drive. This module is required to open Faction Lockboxes, which contain significantly more $ALLOY than Council Caches. Players can obtain these Cores through presale events, marketplace purchases, or leaderboard achievements. Additionally, Faction Shards, which are also NFTs, are needed to craft Faction Lockboxes. These shards can be found in Council Caches, looted from other players, or traded externally.
Faction Lockboxes play a key role in the economic loop. Once crafted using six identical Faction Shards, they reward players with large quantities of $ALLOY, often far exceeding the amount found in other loot sources. This encourages players to actively pursue crafting these Lockboxes to increase their earnings and potential conversion to $FURY.

Season 2 will mark the first full implementation of the $FURY economy and the play and earn system. While only one of the planned economic pillars will be available at launch, the update introduces essential infrastructure that supports long-term goals, including a sustainable player-driven economy. In addition to the economic updates, Season 2 is expected to bring new territories, expanded gameplay features, and further enhancements. As of now, no official release date has been announced, but the game remains one of the top wishlisted titles on the Epic Games Store.
