Earlier this year, the Dubai Future Foundation reported that the UAE is now home to over 350 gaming companies, with 260 specializing in game development. More than 60 of these companies were established recently, including 12% classified as large global firms. Since the program’s inception in 2023, roughly 67% of gaming companies in the country have headquartered in Dubai, highlighting the emirate’s growing influence in the industry.

Government leaders have emphasized policy support and infrastructure as key drivers for the sector. Dubai Economic Development Corporation CEO Hadi Badri and Dubai Chambers digital operations director Abdulla AlGaoud previously discussed the government’s ambitions for the gaming sector during the Dubai GameExpo Summit 2024, powered by PGC. The summit is set to return on May 20–21, 2026, providing a platform for regional and international developers, publishers, and investors to connect, collaborate, and explore business opportunities.
