Wemade, the South Korean gaming company known for its web3 initiatives, has partnered with Japan’s Toei Animation to create a blockchain-based game inspired by the DenDekaDen intellectual property (IP). The collaboration is part of Wemade’s efforts to expand its blockchain footprint through its subsidiary Wemix.
The partnership was formalized with the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The project’s working title, DenDenGarden, reflects its foundation on the DenDekaDen narrative, which features seven characters with divine abilities.

Integration of NFTs
The game introduces NFT functionality through the DenDekaDen: Keshin No Kaden collection. This series, available on the Ethereum blockchain via Magic Eden, allows players to own digital assets tied to the game. These NFTs play a critical role in enhancing the gaming experience by integrating directly into the storyline and mechanics.
Target Markets and Global Launch
Although DenDenGarden is being developed with a global audience in mind, it will particularly focus on Japan, Southeast Asia, and North America—regions with a strong gaming and web3 presence.
Toei Animation, renowned for its work on globally popular franchises such as Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Sailor Moon, adds significant cultural weight to the collaboration. The partnership aligns with Wemade’s strategy of leveraging established IPs to attract diverse audiences and foster blockchain adoption in gaming.
