Dacoco has unveiled the latest addition to its Alien Worlds metaverse with the launch of the mobile auto battler, Battlefleet Armageddon. This browser-based space strategy expansion, developed by partner studio Mercury Forge, takes gaming to a new level by incorporating unique features such as Alien Worlds NFTs and a web3-based financial model.
The core of Battlefleet Armageddon revolves around Alien Worlds' NFTs. The introduction of Alien Worlds NFTs adds an exciting layer to the gameplay, where the rarity of these digital assets directly impacts the accessibility of different tiers of battleships for players. This innovative approach allows gamers to strategically choose spaceships and upgrades to construct fleets, leading to intense battles against other players or powerful Syndicates.
Mercury Forge, the brains behind Battlefleet Armageddon, has been working on the game since early 2023. The project received a boost through a community grant from Galactic Hubs, further emphasizing its commitment to multiplayer dynamics and player engagement.
Aaron Yuan, co-founder of Mercury Forge, highlighted the collaborative effort between the studios, stating, "From the very inception of the project, we were thinking in terms of multiplayer and how the story would emerge naturally from engagement between players. They saw what we were working on, and we had a lot in common in terms of the vision we wanted to achieve."
Beyond the gameplay, Battlefleet Armageddon leverages web3 technology to create a financially sustainable model for future expansions. In-game packs and NFTs play a central role, allowing players to self-fund the game while acquiring ship packs, boosts, and appearance upgrades using WAX (in-game currency).
The Alien Worlds' DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) system also contributes significantly to the gaming experience. This system grants users voting rights to influence the game's trajectory, making players active participants in the metaverse's evolution.
Dacoco's CEO and co-founder, Saro McKenna, emphasized the importance of community and lore in strengthening the playing environment.
"Players have access to NFTs with varying capabilities and can fight at any time. They also have a say in the future of their chosen Syndicate or planet, reinforcing Alien Worlds' position as a thriving ecosystem that changes the traditionally passive role of players into active Custodians, creators, and entrepreneurs with a vested interest in a thriving metaverse."
Battlefleet Armageddon, deployed on WAX, is free-to-play and accessible on both Google Play and the Apple App Store. As players embark on intergalactic battles, the combination of NFTs, web3 integration, and community-driven features makes this mobile auto battler a noteworthy addition to the Alien Worlds universe.
