French game studio Cometh has recently revealed its space-themed web3 Trading Card Game (TCG), Cosmik Battle, launching into early access on popular platforms such as the Epic Games Store, Ultra, and Hyperplay. This move marks a significant step in the realm of blockchain games, with Cosmik Battle becoming one of the many blockchain titles to hit the Epic Games platform, joining the ranks of other notable releases like Champions Ascension, Blocklords, and Gods Unchained.
The early access phase for Cosmik Battle on PC is set to be active for a month, with the official launch slated to follow immediately afterward. Next to Aurory’s Seekers of Tokane, the game is also among the first built on Arbitrum to launch on the platform.
The game operates on Cometh's native blockchain, Muster, designed as an L3 built on Arbitrum. Leveraging the latest tech stack, Orbit, Cosmik Battle incorporates Cometh's wallet solution, Cometh Connect. This feature facilitates user-friendly onboarding through social and email logins, eliminating the necessity of creating a web3 wallet. Furthermore, it ensures gas-free transactions and allows fiat payments, enhancing accessibility for players.
Cosmik Battle, a free-to-play turn-based Player vs. Player TCG, immerses players into a captivating space universe where they assume the roles of aspiring pilots. The gameplay involves selecting spaceships, collecting resources, and strategically crafting cards in a bid to outmaneuver opponents. Notably, the inclusion of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and other tradable items adds an additional layer of depth to the gaming experience.
A key feature of Cosmik Battle is the tradability of in-game items, facilitated through the game's dedicated marketplace and secondary marketplaces. This opens up avenues for players to engage in the trading aspect of the game, enhancing the overall gaming ecosystem.
Cometh has outlined its Future Roadmap, with plans to expand the game's reach by releasing it on mobile platforms through Google Play and the Apple App Store later in 2024.
Jérôme de Tychey, CEO of Cometh, emphasized the studio's commitment to creating games rather than merely using them as a vehicle to promote blockchain technology. Rejecting play-to-earn models, de Tychey underlined the belief in blockchain's potential to strengthen the bond between players and their favorite games.
For those eager to stay updated on Cosmik Battle, the game's website offers the latest information, while the Epic Games Store provides the opportunity to experience the game firsthand. As Cosmik Battle ventures into the gaming landscape, its unique blend of blockchain technology and engaging gameplay is sure to captivate a diverse audience.
