Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, in collaboration with Avalanche, has introduced Coachella Quests, a web3 loyalty game aiming to enhance fan engagement and loyalty. This initiative combines blockchain technology with gamification, offering festival-goers rewards through digital quests.

Sam Schoonover, innovation lead for Coachella, highlights the significance of tokens in gaining consumer insights while ensuring user privacy. He states, "As fans engage with Coachella by completing Quests, they earn and own tokens that can tell the festival more about their interests and activities while protecting their identity."

Goldenvoice, the creative force behind Coachella and Stagecoach: California’s Country Music Festival, continues to innovate and elevate the festival experience. With over 1,600 concerts promoted annually across North America, Goldenvoice remains a key player in live entertainment. Avalanche, known for its scalable smart contracts platform, will ensure smooth transactions for Coachella Quests participants, facilitating a seamless gaming experience.

Rewards and Prizes

Players complete various quests throughout the festival to earn non-fungible token (NFT) Stamps and Points. These digital collectibles provide access to benefits such as mystery merch boxes, VIP lounge access, and unreleased music. One lucky fan who completes all quests and accumulates enough XP stands a chance to win the Coachella Key – a rare NFT offering two guest passes for the 2025 festival.

Sample quests like the Disco Shark Quest and the AMEX Quest offer unique experiences, from finding hidden QR codes to accessing VIP lounge areas within the festival grounds. The Quest Hideaway, powered by Avalanche, presents a scavenger hunt-style quest for attendees to participate in.

Coachella Quests utilizes web3 technology to provide an immersive festival experience, blurring the lines between physical and digital realms. Fans can explore the Coachella Canvas, a platform offering art, games, and immersive experiences. The Canvas Explorer Guide and Canvas Card document fans' experiences and unlock rewards as they progress through quests.

Apart from main quests, players can partake in side quests featuring content from partners, artists, and community programs, enriching their festival experience. Attendees can explore the on-site Avalanche activation, redeem stamps, and engage with interactive art installations.
