About Captain & Company

Captain & Company is an immersive pirate adventure MMO offering thrilling ship vs. ship battles, exploration, and camaraderie, providing players with an unparalleled gaming experience - all built on the blockchain.

Setting Sail

For newcomers to Captain & Company, the journey begins with a pivotal decision: to play as a Captain or as part of a Company. Captains are the proud owners of ship NFTs and bear the risks when venturing into battles. On the other hand, the Company owns no ships but reaps rewards when they emerge victorious in battles they assist.

Ships: The Heart of the Adventure

Ships are central to the Captain & Company experience. Players can acquire their very own ship on-chain through the game's OpenSea collection. Once acquired, players can sync their wallets to their kap.gg account, ensuring a seamless integration of their digital assets into the game.

To participate, users must create or join a guild. You can do this by going to kap.gg/profile signing up for an account, linking a wallet, and navigating to the Guild tab, where a number of open Guilds will be shown, or you’ll have the option to create your own.

Tournament Key Mechanics

The tournament comprises two main leaderboards: Captain's and Company's. With a total prize pool exceeding $150,000, Captain's Leaderboard commands 80% of the rewards, amounting to 12,000 Blast Gold and $20,000 in $SHARDS tokens. Meanwhile, the Company's Leaderboard claims the remaining 20%, offering 3,000 Blast Gold and $5,000 in $SHARDS tokens.

Here is a detailed breakdown

  • Two Tournaments: Captain’s Leaderboard and Company’s Leaderboard
  • Prize Pool: Over $150,000 total, with 15k Blast Gold and $25k in $SHARDS tokens.
  • Captain’s Leaderboard: 80% of the prize pool (12k Blast Gold and $20k in $SHARDS).
  • Company’s Leaderboard: 20% of the prize pool (3k Blast Gold and $5k in $SHARDS).

Here is a detailed breakdown

  • Create your own guild or be part of a guild
  • Captain’s Tournament: Own a “Ship” to contribute “Captain Skulls” to your guild.
  • Company’s Tournament: No “Ship” is needed to contribute “Company Skulls” to your guild.

Here is a detailed breakdown

  • "Captain Skulls" are issued to guilds from players contributing to the Captain leaderboard, while "Company Skulls" are issued under the Company leaderboard.
  • Guilds basically need to accumulate the most number of either Captain or Company skulls to win the tournament.

Furthermore, guild members holding Shards x Captain & Company Booster NFTs enjoy a 5% bonus on their earned Skulls, amplifying their competitive edge.

Captain and Crew Explained

In Captain & Company, players inhabit two primary roles: Captain and Crew. Captains lead and strategize, while crew members operate cannons, repair shields, and adjust sails. Quest completion rewards players with mBlast, convertible to Blast Gold and subsequently to $BLAST tokens on the Blast network, a Layer 2 Ethereum protocol.

This collaboration not only signifies a strategic partnership but also promises to unlock new liquidity sources, enhance monetization avenues, and elevate user engagement within Captain & Company. Both parties envision a fortified ecosystem, brimming with earning potential for their extensive user base.
